Wow!

That sudden voice made us both laughed, as Riley shouted amazed from the other side of my phone screen that my mom was holding on her hand so that she could be present in this important moment of my life, regardless of her being on another continent.

—You guys sure? —I asked a little nervous, I just wanted everything to be perfect.

You look wow, peaches —Riley remarked smiling—. It was worth staying up pass midnight just so I can say... wow!

I laughed again grabbing my phone—. Thank you, Riles. And thank you for staying up but maybe you should go to sleep now... Josh will be here any minute.

Of course, Maya, I wouldn't have missed it for nothing —she smiled—. You have to tell me everything tomorrow, you promise?

I smiled back—. I promise, sweetie. Have a good night.

I love you, peaches. Have fun but not too much fun, ok? —she replied an I immediately nodded.

—Gotcha, bye.

I hung up as quickly as I could, enough for my mom not to get any suspicious, and threw my phone on my bed turning again to her.

—So, you sure too?

—Maya, you're the most beautiful girl in this planet and in not just saying that because you're my daughter and you inherited my good looking genes —she said waving her hair as he used to do all the time.

—Ok, time to go now —I said now grabbing my purse.

—Wait —she interrupted me, holding my arms—. I just wanted to say you that I'm very happy you let me be part of such an important moment of your life as your first date. I love you so much, baby girl.

She said now brushing a piece of hair out of my face, with a smile such as joyful as before and I couldn't help but smile her back.

Technically, this wasn't my first date, my first day was with Farkle although I never counted that as a date. Then I had a weird first date with Lucas where I poured two smoothies on his head and a couple more than couldn't exactly clasified as that. And then, I had a bunch of unofficial dates with Zay but, I had no heart to break my mom's illusion so... let's say this was my first official date.

—I love you more, mom.

—Let's go... Shawn is probably banging his head to the wall by now.

I nodded. We both knew after the other day that when it came to me and boys, Shawn became a lunatic.

So, we went out of my room and down the stairs into the living room where Shawn was waiting for us, sitting in the silence with his eyes lost on the space, or he did so until he heard us coming down and without any hesitation, he stood up and turned to see us.

His face immediately changed and I could see the exact same look and smile he gave me the day he bought me all those clothes, a.k.a, one of the best day's of my life.

—What do you think, dad?

—Wow, y-you... y-you look gorgeous, kiddo —he babbled still smiling.

—Thank you.

I smiled too and just in that moment, the door bell rang making my mom, without any hesitation too, walk to this one to open it as I felt shivers running through my entire body. This was happening.

My mom opened the door reveling Josh and I couldn't help but gasp for air as I saw him, remembering the exact same time that I saw him for the first time in years and I suddenly felt the urge to point him and say...
