“Two double Jack Daniels on the rocks” I tell him quickly before putting the phone back to my ear

“What did you just say?” Cole asks sounding like he’s just seen a ghost that murdered his father in a past life. What’s up his ass?

“Jack Daniels” I tell him simply. Why is it so important?

“What?” he growls sounding livid. I roll my eyes to the bartender as he finishes loading up the tray who chuckles in reply. I smile handing him a wad of cash before picking up the tray in my free hand.

“And now I have to go. Bye Cole” I tell him with a laugh and end the call. I slip the phone in my pocket and walk back to the table.

“So why was Cole calling you?” Jake asks with a laugh as I flop back into my seat after putting the tray on the table.

: ‘Erin’ Cole says angrily :

: ‘If you call me again or don’t leave me alone I will block the link off permanently’ I threaten :

“Because he has issues” I mutter dryly as I take a swig of my Jack.

“I can believe that,” one of the guys laughs in response reaching to take his drink off the tray and also taking a large swig.

“How’d you get stuck with him anyway?” Jake questions wiggling his eyebrows while curiosity pours out of him and hits me in waves. I wonder how he’d react if I told him that I turn into a werewolf and he just happens to be the Alpha in my Pack.

“Apparently I’m his girlfriend” I admit looking away from him and to the glass of liquid gold that is in my hand. I laugh as I hear a bunch of splutters from the guys around me and look up to see a bunch of mouths hanging open. Yup, that just proves that I’m insane for dating him. What’s new.

There is a long pause before realisation dawns on Jake’s face and he gives me a strange look “Apparently?” he questions.

“That’s what they tell me” I mutter dryly taking another sip of Jack and enjoying the slight burn that makes its way down my throat.

“What do you mean?” The younger looking guy at the other end of the table questions, a look of utter confusion muddled upon his face.

“I got in an accident a few months back and I’m still dealing with the amnesia” I reply bitterly, fucking amnesia.

“Really?”  Jake asks and I turn my head around back to face him only to see the look of distress and concern on his face. I look right into his eyes and nod solemnly as the pain once again comes back to strangle my chest. “I’m sorry” he says, his voices wavering to show his sympathy. Who would have thought that I’d find a decent guy hanging out in a bar on a Wednesday night?  I certainly didn’t.

“Thanks”  I nod my appreciation, “So now I’m stuck with the bugger while trying to figure out why they fuck I agreed to go out with him in the first place” I tell them  pushing the conversation out of its depressive mood. “Which leaves me getting drunk in a bar with a bunch of strangers while he sulks at home like a scolded puppy cause I told him I wanted some air” I smirk at the image of him pacing back and forth with a frown on his face and the guys around to table all laugh in response.
