Getting ready for Bella's seventh birthday party was hectic, she didn't know I was back home, so I had to be extremely quiet. I was up all night decorating the house and backyard for tons of little princesses and princes and other parents that would be running around during the birthday party. I wrapped all her presents and baked her cake, even decorated it myself. Mom and dad kept her in their room last night, as I was putting her surprise birthday outfit on her bed. I got her a dress that looked like a cross between Rapunzel and Sleeping beauty's dress, alongside adorable little white flats, matching crown and crown jewelry, as for me I decided to dress up as Anna from Frozen, her second favorite princess. Our brothers were out getting all the party favors and the pizzas for the party.
I was putting the final touches on my outfit when mom entered my room, "Hey Raven" she started to say but was taken back by my dress, "She's going to freak out Princess Anna." She teased me, I laughed and said, "Did she like her outfit?" Mom nodded her head softly, "She thinks that you aren't going to be here." I awwd and said, "Just wait till I arrive, did you tell her she has special guests coming?" Her eyes widen and she sighed, "Fuck! I knew I had forgotten something!" I chuckled and said, "I'm almost done here, go tell her that after the guests arrive, her first present will be here soon." Mom nodded her head and walked out of my room, I turned around and smiled softly as I put the crown on.
Closing my bedroom door, I walked towards the top of the staircase, hearing the laughter of kids, with shaky hands I grabbed onto the railing of the stairs and walked down, "Rubella! Look!" Said Desmond as he was handed out tiaras to the little girls, she turned and said, "Birdie!!" And met me at the end of the stairs, "Hi princess!" I said as I leaned down and hugged her, "You're here! You really are here!" She cried as she hugged me, I chuckled and said, "I couldn't let my princess Bella down, now could I?" I asked her as she shook her head no, "Come on princess let's enjoy your birthday party!" She nodded and pulled me towards the backyard, where I sat professional help on the bouncy castles and some other games, alongside a pony just for this occasion. Leading me towards the horse she made grabby hands for me, "Uppy up!" I chuckled and lifted her on the horse, "I'm glad your happy baby!" She nodded her head and smiled at me, "Momma and daddy did a good job!" Break went my heart as she said that, holding back tears, Elijah who was on the other side of the horse looked at me, clearing my throat I softly spoke, "Yeah, they did princess." Bells looked at me with her adorable doe eyes, "Can you put me down now?" I nodded and put her down on the ground and watched as she ran off towards momma and daddy. Elijah came over and grabbed my hand, "I'm sorry Raven." Putting a hand up to stop him I smiled softly at him, "That's what I get for leaving. I get it." And walked away pulling out my phone, texting Stephen, "Hey? Where are you? You said you would be here after noon? It's 2:30?" And sent it, waiting for a response from him, but not getting one, exhaling a breath I put my phone away and watched as Bella ran round the house chasing her friends.
An hour passed and Stephen still hasn't shown up, pulling out my phone and texted him, "Thank you for having my back Stephen. Hope you're having a good day." And turned off my phone, dad came up to me and said, "It's time to open the presents and eat cake." I cleared my throat and said, "Go on without me." And went to walk away when he stopped me, "Look I'm sorry she thinks me and your mom did all this. We were just going to take her out to eat and give her a cake, that's it." I scoffed and said, "Right, okay." And pulled my arm out of his grip, walking towards the stairs to go take a breather.
Watching from my balcony as Bella opens her birthday presents, sighing softly I knew that she was thanking my parents for the gifts I had gotten her, my phone then started to buzz, pulling it out I saw that Stephen had sent my a message, "I forgot! I'm so sorry Raven!" It read and I typed back, "Yeah okay." Sent it and turned off my phone, shaking my head and I laughed as Desmond had cake thrown at his face by Elijah who was talking with Leah. Putting my hands on the stone railing of the balcony I sighed and softly smiled at the sight of my family being happy without me. Looking at the darkening sky, I wished for a second that things were different.
I walked downstairs and walked towards Bella who was waving goodbye to her friends and the pack members, mother and father sighed in relief as the last guest had left. Bella walked over towards them and said, "Thank you for my birthday party! I had a blast!" They smiled and daddy then pulled her in his arms, turned her around and said, "Actually it was all your wonderful big sister over here that planned it all, spent all night decorating and baking just for her special princess's birthday." She looked at me with tears in her eyes, "It was you? You did all this?" Nodding my head I said, "I know how much you miss me, and I miss you too baby girl. I got home last night around midnight. But I'm glad I did what I did, but I won't be taking credit for it." She then ran towards me as I knelt on the floor with my arms open and hugged my little princess, "I have one more surprise that mom and dad don't know that I got you, and probably will get in trouble for it." I got up and walked towards the kitchen grabbing two matching black water and food bowls, handed them to Bella, who was confused about what they were for, "Can you get what I got you?" I asked her as she shot her head up and said, "A puppy!" I nodded and brought in a pit bull that looked exactly like my wolf, "This is paradox, she is your dog. Whenever you're missing me, she's here to comfort you." Desmond laughed as dad groaned and mom chuckled, "Your in so much trouble raven!" I laughed and said, "It's worth it though!" Paradox walked towards Bella who threw her arms around paradox's neck, "I love her! Thank you maiden of light!" Nodding my head I sighed, before grabbing my keys and bag, "I would love to stay but I have queen classes and training tomorrow morning." My family stood and hugged me goodbye, leaving home I felt something was off, shaking my head I got into my car and drove off heading towards Skyshorrow.
Arriving at the castle I didn't tell anyone I was coming back early, walking in the castle it was quiet, seeing Mayrin, the maid, I asked her, "Mayrin? Where's Stephen?" She chuckled nervously and said, "He's in his room, but I." I didn't hear the rest of what she had to say as I ran towards his room, upon arriving at his room I heard moaning, confused i opened his door and there in his bed was him and another girl, I dropped my suitcases and said, "What the fuck Stephen!" He jumped and landed on the floor, quickly jumping up and grabbing the sheet, "Raven! Your back!" I laughed and said, "So this is what you were doing while I was texting you from my sister's birthday party which you were supposed to be at? Fuck you!" And I walked out slamming the door, running down the stairs with tears in my eyes and out the castle, I got in my car and drove away. My phone was ringing like crazy but I didn't answer it knowing who was calling. Shaking my head I continued to drive away from the place and going anywhere, soon my phone was going off like crazy as I kept receiving text after text. Not responding to him I drove back home, crying as I drove back home, my heart broken as I was starting to fall in love with him.
Reaching home after driving for what get like hours I got back home, running up to the door opening it, I walked into the living room where my family laid watching movies, they all looked my way after hearing the door closed, seeing my crying and wet from the rain, mother jumped up, "Darling what's wrong?" I shook my head and ran into her arms, "Why does love hurt momma?" And started to cry all over again, she sighed and rubbed my back, "What happened baby girl." She said, "I got back and went to see Stephen when" I paused as a sob left my lips, "When, what baby girl?" Asked father as he joined me and mom, "He was h-having sex with another girl. Why? Why does it hurt?" I asked as I broke down and crumpled but mom and dad caught me, growling was heard and glass was broke, "That son of a bitch!" Yelled Desmond before I passed out from exhaustion and a broken heart.
