New Years Eve

My best friend, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are going to a New Years party with some of Thomas’ friends. We have been best friends since before I can remember. Now we share a flat in London, but we aren’t together. Even though deep down I wish we were together. Is that bad? Is it weird I have a crush on my best friend? I can’t decide if it’s weird or not.

I put on my red, knee high dress that flares at my hips, but is tighter around my torso with my black converse. Then I put on some light pink lip gloss and mascara. I always hated wearing makeup, so I only wear a little, on special occasions. After getting completely ready, I grab my purse and began walking to my bedroom door, when I hear a knock.

“Hello?” I say, opening my bedroom door. It’s Thomas!

“Hey, you ready (Y/N)?” Thomas asks with a huge smile on his face.

“Yeah!” I say with a lot of emphasis on every syllable. We both start laughing. Then Thomas hooks his arm with mine and we make our way to Thomas’ car.

“Alright, we have to pick up Will, Kaya, Dylan, and Ki from Will’s place, then we are on our way to the party!” Thomas said in his thick british accent. Will, Dylan, Ki, and Kaya were Thomas’ friends from the movie The Maze Runner. They were all visiting London for New Years, except Will, he lives in London. The 3 of them were spending the night at his house.

We drove about 15 minutes to Will’s flat. Once Thomas parked his car the crowd of actors poured out of Will’s flat. We didn’t all fit in Thomas’ car, so we called a cab.

Finally, we made it to the party. We arrived at about 10:30. We’ve been here for about an hour. Kaya and I were dancing on the dance floor with Will and Ki. Thomas and Dylan were talking on the outside of the dance floor at a small table.

“I’m gonna go see what the guys are doing,” I tell my dancing friends. They nod and keep dancing uncontrollably. I make my way over to the 2 boys. I lean my elbow on the table that the boys are sitting at and smirk flirtatiously.

“What are you boys talking ‘bout?” I ask while batting my eyes and smiling widely.

“Nothing!” Thomas says nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. Dylan just looks at the ground.

“What?” I ask, practically begging “I want to know!” I plead, being very annoying and needy. Then before I knew it Kaya, Will, and Ki were bouncing around us. I heard people counting down from 10. Thomas grabs my hand and I look up at him. He’s just staring at the huge group of partiers, counting down

Thomas then looks at me.

He looks nervous, but he still looks as handsome as always.

Now Thomas and I are just staring into each others’ eyes.

Thomas starts to lean down, closer to my face. What is he doing?

Then out of no where, Thomas presses his lips to mine. Time seems to stop. Everyone to go quiet. Then Thomas pulls away. Leaning his forehead against mine. He looks into my eyes and I look into his. His perfect, brown eyes. My melts every time I look into them.

“So, you really want to know what Dylan and I were talking about?” Thomas asks

“No, I think I have a good idea of what you were talking about,” I tell him, connecting our lips once more.
