FRIDAY, 20 APRIL 2012

then the time hwasung dreaded the most came, the time where her mom would listen to her playing the piano.

hwasung was super nervous when she sat infront of her piano. while her mother sitting at the sofa, ready to listen her daughter playing the piano.

hwasung could feel as if her mom's gaze are boring a hole into her back.

hwasung's finger touches the piano tuts and start playing it. it was going smooth at first until it reaches the bridge where hwasung still couldn't play it perfectly. her finger would either slipped and played another note or she has to slow down the tempo or miss the beat.

"repeat," her mom said coldly everytime hwasung made a mistake. hwasung couldn't help but to start getting restless.

"stop," her mom suddenly said. hwasung gulped as she heard her mom's order. "look at me," she said. hwasung then turn her body to look at her mom. her eyes couldn't meet her mom's eyes. she's scared.

"i thought you said you practiced," she said, her tone showing she's mad.

"yes i did," hwasung replied short. still scared to meet her mom's eye.

"then why can't you get it right? not even once?!" her mom lift up her tone. "i'm sorry," hwasung replied, her voice shaking, her tears starting to fall.

"don't you dare to cry," her mom retorted. hwasung who heard those words immediately used her hands to wipe out her tears. "i'm sorry," she repeated again. "i'll do better next time."

"that's what you said last time, and the previous time again. and? did you do better?" her mom snapped at her.

"i'm sorry," hwasung said again, her voice is shaking. those are the only words hwasung could say.

"keep practicing until nine," her mom ordered. "then lock the door, turn off the lights, go back to your room. get it?" her mom sternly said, her gaze is cold.

hwasung nodded in response. "yes," she said softly. then her mom turns her back and left the room.

hwasung let out a sigh as soon as her mom left. she went back to her piano and played them again. she's been playing it the whole afternoon and now she has to play them again.

she wanted to cry. but she can't. she's scared. she's scared that her mom would suddenly come out and caught her crying. then her mom would be angry at her again.

so she start playing her piano again. over and over again until she can smoothly plays the parts she previously can't.

as the clock keeps ticking and the night keeps getting late, the clock struck nine. hwasung exhaled in relief and exhaustion.

she then lock the front door just like her mom had told her too and turn off all the light and head towards her room. she then threw herself to her bed and looked at her room ceiling. plain white ceiling, how boring she thought.

then her eyes looked at her window. the moon is shining bright and stars are visible. hwasung smiled at the view. she had seen pictures of stars and constellations. she absolutely love them. they're beautiful.

sadly, there aren't a lot of stars visible from where she live. so to have a few of them is a beautiful thing to see already for hwasung. at least there's something that makes her happy today.

while looking at the night sky from her window, a wild idea suddenly struck hwasung.

she immediately opens her room door. the whole house is dark. she tiptoed to her parents room and opened the door softly. she peeked into it and found both of her parents already fast asleep. they must be tired from their works she thought.

then she tiptoed to the front door, wear her shoes and unlocked the door.
