POVO: Blair M.
(Entry 2)
It's actually quite easy living alone, when you're the last on earth. You don't need to buy anything, and you have free rein of everything. I even found a toothbrush in the back of a store room near my home. Of course there's challenges, why wouldn't there be?
I've been cooking using the heat from outside, when I really need to... I live in Canada, so yes, Winter's cold, but summer can be upwards of 45 C... I would just use my stove for cooking, but I don't exactly know how to use it. I was never allowed; my parents were always scared I'd burn myself. Plus, there's no power. Although, I think the mall, and grocery stores, have generators...the hospital too. I mean, I never really did leave my room, so I did a lot of reading. Most buildings, that are not privately owned, have a back-up generator to keep the building running without power... When I say most, I mean like schools, hospitals, and stores that could sell perishable, or "pricey" things.
Why would these buildings need a generator? Well...
School
Heat, should the power be knocked out in the winter
Phone lines, should there be a need to contact help
Electricity, should there be a need for it to be used as a shelter post-disaster
Mall
Heat/AC
Locking/Security system(s)
Electricity
Hospitals (This one should be pretty self explanatory... but here you go, future me)
Heat/AC
Medication, and such (I.E blood) that must be kept cold
Electricity
Technically, most things I listed could fall under the category "electricity"... but, depending on how each place has their situation... situated; they could also be considered different things, despite using them electricity.
It's still quite warm where I am, being that it's summer... so I should be fine for a little while longer where I am; as long as I don't mind the heat... which I don't really. It's a nice change... other than the constant streams of sweat.
When I do move, I'll probably try and find my way to the mall. It's a mall, so it should have beds, food, medication (I.E Advil, Midol), "entertainment", and a bunch of other things I may end up needing. Being in a climate that gets deathly cold, I need to figure out how to grow food year round. I could see if I can find Home- whatever it's called... I believe they sell dirt, plants, and pots... among other things... that I could use to help me with my, eventual, garden; hopefully.
Remember when I said I was hearing voices? Ever so slightly inhumane ones?... Well, they're becoming more clear; more vivid, and noticeable. I still can't quite make out what they're saying, besides my name, but I feel like it's important... like I should listen to them... follow them... find who, or what, they belong to... Although, I can't do that if I can't figure out how to survive in my new world. Meaning, I need to do some research. Figure out what kinds of plant life, and smaller animals will kill me, and which won't. I'm going to check my shed for anything I can use as land markers, as well as carry on my own; before heading to the library. I've been there once before, when Rune took me for a walk while Hail was at work, so I have an approximate idea of what the surrounding area looks like; granted this was over 10 years ago, but I'm confident with my memory. I'm also going to bring a bag with some food and water, a sweater, and this journal. I don't know how long I'm going to stay at the library for, or how long it's going to take me to find it, so it probably wouldn't be the best idea I've ever had to leave with nothing.

(Entry 1)
I don't know where I am, but I do know I'm still on Earth. I've been outside, but I don't recognize my surroundings. I vaguely remember what happened a couple weeks ago, and the chaos prior. With the sirens blazing, people shouting, neglected buildings toppling over, power lines snapping, and the earth itself seeming to change shape, and form. I've always had... an overactive imagination, to say the least... but I've never had trouble distinguishing between what's real, and what's not. That is, until a few weeks ago. It was like the ground was becoming smoother... hills were getting smaller. Almost like the tectonic plates were working at a rapid pace, and in reverse. That's not exactly what happened, but that's the best I could describe it. That's something that would never happen in reality... but it had to have been reality; everything still looks flatter than normal, and now that I'm actually looking, what used to be almost completely flat, now seems almost solid-fluid like. I mean, when you throw water, if it's cold enough, it'll freeze almost instantly; in whatever shape the water was. That's kind of how part of the land looks. Only not... I'm sorry if I'm confusing here... It's just- I don't know what to make of it either.
I'm not planning on taking what I've written with me once I start traveling. I'll write as I go, and leave the paper behind. Just in case someone else happens past the area; so they'll know that they're not alone here.
Blair, Hail, this is Rune. If either of you happen across this sheet of paper, meet me at the hospital. I just hope I'm still in the same city.
