"I know. I won't say a word, Miss Michaelson. I promise you," I stated.

Starla Evans really had made it.

She was about to embark on a date with her university professor.

This was the kind of thing that they just wrote books about.

I couldn't help but smile, at the thought of it all.

I did, all the same, wish the two of them the best of luck.

Mari was an incredible human being, beyond being our class teacher. She really did care about her students.

I supposed in Starla's case, though, it had become a little more intense than that.

This was a rare incident of the university professor actually liking their student back.

I moved a hand through my hair, just looking between them for a moment.

Starla soon returned to getting on with her work, and Mateo entered the room to set down his papers on the desk.

Starla and I both looked towards him, momentarily.

He raised an eyebrow as he met my gaze.

"Why do I feel like something important just happened that I have no clue about?" he asked, then.

Man, if only he knew.

I looked towards Starla momentarily, but she just gave a slight shake of her head in response.

She was right to do so, of course.

I needed to keep this a secret.

"Nothing is going on, Mateo," Miss Michaelson spoke up, then, "I was just telling the girls how proud I was of their grades," she added.

Mateo just smiled and nodded.

He wasn't about to interrogate a teacher over all of this.

I knew him well enough to know that he wouldn't do that.

I looked down towards Mateo's toned legs for a moment. He was wearing shorts, okay? I had my reasons.

Besides, I couldn't help but admire his physique.

From an entirely scientific perspective, of course.

Anyhow, Mateo had a scar on his knee.

"What happened to you?" I asked him, then.

He sighed, as he followed my gaze.

"I may have got into a fight with some gym equipment and it sort of...fought back," he said.

I chuckled, as I went up to plant a kiss on his cheek.

None of the other students had arrived just yet, which meant that Mateo had some PDA time.

I hardly supposed that Miss Michaelson was going to be opposed to it, given that it would seem a tad hypocritical with everything currently going on.

"You'll be okay. I can get you some ice from the cafeteria later," I told him, then.

Mateo released a chuckle.

"Such a considerate girlfriend," he said then, which reminded me of the fact that I was now, in fact, his girlfriend.

It still seemed a little crazy to me, but I also knew that I was so incredibly happy with him.

I didn't ever want that to be ended.

Mateo gave me a smile, expressive of his happiness, and stretched for a moment, so that his abs flexed a little under his white sweater.
