"This is an emergency broadcast: The world felt the tremor of several earthquakes this evening, the latest being just fifteen minutes ago. People are being urged to find shelter and to stay inside. "The reporter presses her fingers against her ear piece. Her eyes snap from side to side quickly glancing over the incoming headline before continuing.
"And just in: reports of an unknown virus has infected tens of thousands of people, many of whom are already dead." She swallows as her eyes glaze with terror.
"Everyone is to be evacuated immediately, city trucks and will be filling the streets shortly.' She takes a quick pause.
" 'This is a world wide state of emergency, one we have never seen before. Leave everything, wait for no one and do not touch the infected' is the message from State Officials.' A siren blares in the background of the broadcast and the camera begins to shake.
"Another quake" A man from behind the camera says. The reporter holds onto the edge of her desk as the whole studio shifts back and forth.
"We need to go" The same man whispers to the crew.
"Everybody out now!" Another shouts from outside the studio's door. The reporter who is still bracing at her desk, scanning the lines of breaking news appearing on the shaking monitor in front of her, stands up and pulls at her skirt. She stares into the camera one last time. Her skin is translucent with shock and her throat catches every word she tries to say with a speed bump of fear.
"Please everyone, find an evacuation truck and leave now, this is real! Get yourself to safety and may God have mercy on us all." She's led out of shot and the broadcast cuts to white static noise.
