Chapter 2 - Blocked

MacKenzie's POV

We're all in the West house, sitting around the main room

Barry and Nora sit next to each other as they explain the whole situation to the team 

I stand next to Caitlin who's sitting on the table

"So you're not stuck here." Iris sums up from what the two told us

"No, I'm not." Nora says

"So the reverse tachyons in your system?" Caitlin asks

"Were put there because of me." Nora says

"Are you kidding?" Cisco asks, slouched on the couch. "You know how many credit card points I just blew trying to get rid of your negative tachyons? I just bought a brand new spectral tachyeometer when I could have my Fiji get away. Not that I have anyone to go with, anymore." Ralph perks up. "I'm not taking you to Fiji, Ralph."

"Why didn't you guys tell us about this before?" Iris asks

Nora brings up a hologram of a newspaper article that says, "25 years kater - Flash still missing"

"Oh, my God!" Cecile breathes. "Barry never returns?"

"That's why you came here." Joe says. "To see you father, because you were raised without him."

We're all silent

"So what?" Iris asks, breaking the silent

"Iris." Barry says

"So what that-- that article says that you never come back." Iris says. "So what if the other one says that you vanished. I mean, it's said other things before, right? We made it say other things before. So whatever the future brings we are gonna deal with it when it gets here. And change it if we need to."

"She has a point." Cisco says. "If there's anything Team Flash is good at, it's handing the future its own ass and then some."

"What he said." Caitlin says

"Well, looks like Nora's gonna need more training after all." Iris says

Jenna starts crying

"Oh, she's hungry." Cecile says, leaving the room

"Yeah, why don't we, uh, all meet back at S. T. A. R. Labs, all right?" Barry suggests

We all start leaving the room

I follow after Nora and Barry

"Race ya." Nora tells Barry

"You're on." Barry says

I watch the two speed away down the street

Caitlin walks up behind me and puts a hand on my shoulder

"Come on, Mack." Caitlin says. "I'll drive you. We can get some lunch on the way, how's that sound?"

"Sounds good." I say

We walk over to her car and get in

We drive to the Big Belly Burger drive-thru and we wait in the car line

"Just fries, please, no burger." I tell Caitlin

She looks at me skeptically

"Mack, I've known you since you were a baby." Caitlin says. "You've been a vegetarian since you could chew food."

"I know." I say. "I just thought I should remind you. Iris forgot I couldn't have milk yesterday."

"What." Caitlin says. She puts her hands to my cheeks. "Are you okay?"
