Chapter 39

'The kid was taken down so easily before!'

Both fighters charged, fists ready to connect only for a yellow barrier to block them, Red Riot falling softly in the arms of Fatgum, who announces proudly;

"It seems we all underestimated the name Red Riot! Now, though, you get to have a taste of our spear!"

During the fight between Fatgum and Rappa, the hero used his quirk, Fat Absorption to tank the hits from Rappa and store all the energy from them within his body, allowing him to release it as a powerful attack. Golden energy engulfed Fatgum's right arm, tendrils of energy arched off, as he says;

"As All Might once said: PLUS ULTRA!!"

In that moment, Tengai put up his barrier, but to no avail as the energy spear obliterated the yellow barrier, sending the villains flying towards the back wall at alarming speeds, wind blowing all around as they both connected flat, knocking both of the villains out instantly; in Fatgum's arms, Red Riot gave a weak victorious smirk. They had won!

Tears sprang to Fatgum's eyes as he looked at his intern, asking;

"Kirishima? You okay?" Cracking open one eye, the boy looked at Fatgum and nodded, too weak to do anything else. Fatgum takes note of his exhaustion and tells the boy;

"Rest. You deserve it, Red Riot."

Aboveground, the Ryukyu Agency along with the remaining officers finished with the arrests. Villains were hauled out in chains, some fighting and kicking, others simply moving, giving up with what little time of freedom they have left. As they were dragging out the last villain, the one first encountered at the gate, something mysterious happened. Bound in his shackles, the villains seemed to breath deeply, his muscles gaining more mass as literal energy and life was stolen from the people around him, his modulated voice echoing through the street;

"Finally. The damn drug kicked in."

With surprising strength, the bindings were shredded off, leaving the villain free and fully capable to fight, unlike the heroes, who's energy was stolen, leaving them weak and nearly defenseless. Ryukyu was the first to get up, stumbling in her dragon form to fight the villain, both Uravity and Froppy were still weak, legs barely functioning but moved to help their mentor. The draconic hero wrapped her scaly tail around the villain, holding him in place as Uravity gave the man a light touch and Froppy wrapped her tongue around him, carting him off as he shouts and exclaims with anger. His shouts went unheard as the final person flew in;

Nejire readied herself, her quirk forming a glowing pool of energy in his palms, before she released it, spiralling towards the villain, sending him into the ground with titanic force, enough to break through the road and into a main chamber of sorts, were something horrible was seen...

Nova Blaze, formerly Crimson Blaze, had seen a lot. His vigilante career had made sure that he saw the worse of Humanity's sins: Murder, slavery, rape... Heinous acts and this has to be the worst he has even seen...
