Lyra Queen, fresh out of high school, takes action upon seeing her life turned upside down when her father's girlfriend moves in with them. Deciding to finally meet her estranged mother, she persuades her neighbor, Lucas Butera, on a break from university, to drive her 3000km across and to another town.
Amid nausea, fast food, coffee and a very surprisingly clean car, this might just be the utterly worst or best decision of her life.

This book is a work of fiction but it wouldn't be complete if I didn't include occurrences of reality. The world is ugly and we face hard and heart-breaking situations every day.
I am now finding my voice as a black woman and a writer and it wouldn't feel right for me to write a book without, at least, alluding to some of the situations people go through daily. These characters are the closest to real people as I could make them and they wouldn't be, without flaws and internal struggles as the rest of us.

Thank you so much for deeming this book interesting enough to read. The book is actually planned to the last chapter, so I can guarantee it'll be very light-hearted and emotional, at the same time, and also romantic.
I couldn't find anyone who matched the image of Lucas I have in my head, so be free to imagine him as you wish. For now, I'll update every Saturday and maybe occasionally on Wednesday.
There's a playlist of this book but it is going to be released as the chapters go. Some chapters unlock a song from the playlist, by the end we'll have about 10 songs and a couple extras. The songs are a very important aid to how our characters are feeling so I'd really advise you to listen to them.
