Still, The Soldiers Fight Today

I've never not been free
or lived with bitter tyranny.
My grandfathers both fought
and risked their lives and bought
these freedoms I enjoy.

Still, the soldiers fight today,
in wars unending--battle fray
with human ego, human hate
the source of all these wars to date
the price of these freedoms I enjoy.

They've left family and friends
a sacrifice to the end.
With courage and bravery true
they fight for the Red, White, and Blue.
For these freedoms I enjoy.

We lose some each day,
to battle wounds and suicide--they pay.
Still, the soldiers fight today,
to right the wrongs of moral decay
For these freedoms...
are not free.
