XX - I'd Rather Go Blind

I haven't eaten since this morning. Well, I ate some snacks. But none of them was decent enough to be called a proper meal. I only ate a fruit bowl during breakfast, drank a cup of coffee during break time, and ate yogurt during lunch in the middle of the photo shoot.

We were rushing because it's already the first week of September and we have to get everything done by now. Thankfully, we managed to wrap it up today even though everyone skipped lunch in some sense. We were finished by two o'clock and I'm already running late to the party I'm supposed to attend with Nicholas. I didn't have time to change my outfit. It's a good thing my wardrobe is still appropriate in attending an event.

I already texted him earlier to not fetch me from my workplace since I'm really going to be late. He updated me that he's already gone to the party and just sent me the location of the venue. I didn't commute just to go there. Have I mentioned that Vito made a few bodyguards follow me around? Well, at least they don't stick out like a sore thumb. They're maintaining a safe distance from me which made me pleased.

I was escorted by the four guards to the venue of the party. Right when we entered the hall where the party was being held, I ordered them to scatter before I walked over to where I saw Nicholas.

He's talking to this couple and a girl who doesn't even try hiding that she has the hots for him. It's so obvious from the way she bats her lashes, how much she fiddles and twirls her hair, how she fidgets with her fingers, how she can't stand in one spot for more than ten seconds. Damn, she was too obvious. But I don't feel like strangling her yet.

I suppressed myself by approaching them with a striking smile. I know how to catch everybody's attention. I'm just unsure whether it's working on Nicholas. He's the only one that matters. I couldn't care less about everybody else.

And how am I not going to catch people's attention when my fucking mini dress is damn sparkly? It's in a nice color of pastel lavender. Even my purse and heels are in the same color. I wore matching colors today. They're all sparkly, too, that's why I feel like that bitch.

I slipped my hand into Nicholas' available hand since he is holding a champagne using the other one. I didn't know that they serve champagne since I only saw the others holding sparkling wine which barely has any difference, but his drink's color is different. It looks like champagne served in a wine glass. I stole the glass from him the same time I intertwined our fingers.

"Hey," I greeted him with a small smile.

His eyes widened, but he eventually smiled which surprised me. He inched his face closer until his mouth was near my ear.

"You're really late," he pointed out.

"I headed straight to this hotel after our out. It was the traffic," I whispered to his ear in the same volume. I can't help but smile.

"Kiss me," he said randomly. What the hell?

"You'll ruin my lip gloss," I told him, already chuckling to this sudden change of behavior.

"I don't care," he said a little louder this time, leaning away only to seize the distance between us and seal my mouth with his. Doesn't he mind that we're making out in front of other people? Because I don't. I'm shameless when it comes to him. I'm not a liar when it comes to him.

Someone cleared his throat, interrupting us even though I'm the one who really interrupted whatever conversation they were having. I don't give a damn. Nicholas pulled away but his grip on my waist remained.

"Introduce us naman, dude," the guy said to Nicholas. "Kahit kilala ko na rin siya."

Nicholas rolled his eyes. I wiped the smudges on the sides of my lips while trying to sniff what's in the wine. This is spiked that's why it looks like champagne. Know what? The person who did this is dumb.
