Prologue

She was busy with the preparations of her Akka's wedding.

This marriage was nothing short of miracle. In our society, it is not easy to find a groom for a 30 year old divorcee woman with child. But fate has its way. The Iyers moved to Delhi and their neighbor's, the Bhalla's were looking for a girl for their divorced elder son.

Madhavi was thankful to her Murugan that she found such a suitable match for her daughter. Rich and handsome businessman Raman Kumar Bhalla was one of the most eligible bachelor in town. At the age of 29, he has carved a niche for himself in the business world. Now Madhavi was worried about other unmarried girls of their house, especially her poor motherless niece Ishita for whom there was otherwise no real hope of a decent alliance. Who will marry a penniless orphan girl!

Ishita had learned to ignore such taunts and predictions of her dire future. She was happily looking forward to her cousin's marriage and having a lot of fun playing with the little Ruhi, with whom she had formed an unspoken bond in last one month. Ruhi was Raman's 5 year old daughter from his first marriage.

Haldi Cermony Day

A lot of guests mostly compromising of women were gathered in the hall of Bhalla Residence. It's Raman and Vandita's Haldi ceremony today.

"Ruhi, please hold this Haldi Plate. Mummy will be coming and she will take it from you. Don't go anywhere. Stand here only. Do not move an inch. I will be back in 5 minutes. I need to take this important call." Simmi told Ruhi and left after handing her over the haldi plate.

After 2 minutes Ruhi saw her friends clicking selfies with a Tv star who was invited as guest. She was now eager to get a selfie herself.

Just then Raman came out of his room as he needed to go to office to collect his office file .

Ruhi saw her Papa and was super happy.

"Papa hold this please. Simmi Bua will be back in 5 minutes and will take it from you. Don't go anywhere. Stand here only. Do not move an inch. Ok?"

"What Ruhi? Papa has to go to office. I have to send an important email."

"Papa, look that TV star has come. I also want to click selfies with her. Please Papa, just for 2 minutes. You are my dear Papa na..."

Raman surrendered.

Raman was standing in his hall, holding the plate with a bowl of turmeric, flowers and Kumkum in it checking his wrist watch every 10 seconds and looking around for any of his family member but found none. As if some magical force disappeared everyone in the wake of some impending extraterrestrial event.

Just then Vandita's son, Shravan came running into the hall followed by her Akka.

"Stop Shravu....You need to shower. She was running behind him when suddenly he went past Raman and in an attempt to catch him she rammed into him with a force that made him lose balance and all the contents of the plate he had been holding flew into the air.

Next moment, he was furious seeing her in front of him.

"You again? Can't you see properly while running around? Are you blind?" he snapped.

"And why can't you stand out of people's way? Have you donated your brain?" she gave him back.

"I am in my house. I can stand wherever I like. You came and crashed into me. And now you are shouting at me. Stupid girl. Get lost. I don't want to see you around." he snubbed her.

"If you see someone coming your way, you give them way. You don't get in their way Raavan Kumar. I am also not dying to be around you." she retorted.

Fuming, both turned and went in opposite direction while everyone in the hall kept staring at her in utter astonishment. She was covered in haldi, flowers and other things which were earlier in Raman's plate. The one thing which widened everyone eyes to the maximum extent was her hair partition which was now filled with Vermilion!
