Braeden
As we passed the Riverdale sign, the car suddenly shot backwards and Betty and I both slammed our heads against the dash. "What the fuck," she groaned as she opened her car door and stepped out. We both approached the town border slowly and attempted to walk in, but there seemed to be a wall stopping us.
"Magic," I whisper, running my fingers over the invisible barrier.
"How did this get here," she whispers, pressing her hand against it, pushing as hard as she could.
"Luke," I whisper, a sudden realization. "That's why he was in Greendale. He was there to distract me. To make sure we couldn't get back in before the barrier set."
"What are we going to do? We have to get in," she yells, annoyed.
"Give me a minute. I've seen him do this before. There's gotta be some way to neutralize it," I whisper.
"Sadly there isn't," a voice says and Betty and I both jump and turn quickly.
"Who the hell are you," I ask the man in front of us. He seems to be in his mid to late thirties, but might be older.
"Oh how rude of me. My name is Edgar Evernever and I'm here to offer my services," he says andI raise a brow.
"How would you be of any use to us," Betty questions and he chuckles.
"I could help you get through this little barrier here," he says and before I can even question how, he steps through it.
"You're a witch," I whisper and he smirks.
"I thought it was obvious, little Omega, but maybe your ability to sense magic has faded due to that waste of magic boy you once loved," he says and I stare at him.
"How did you know that," I ask and he chuckles softly.
"He came to me, requesting help with a very specific potion, but I declined. He refused to pay the price I requested," he says, sounding genuinely disappointed for a moment before putting on a grin again. "But I think you'll be different then him. After all, your vampire friends may need you to save them," he whispers.
"What do you want from me," I ask and his grin grows.
"All I ask is for a drop of your blood," he asks and Betty grabs my hand.
"Look I don't know what he wants to do with it, but it can't be good," she whispers and I turn towards her.
"What other choice do we have? He's our only option and we're running out of time," I whisper and I hear Edgar clap.
"So is it a deal," Edgar asks. extending his hand.
"It is," I whisper and take it and I feel something sharp slide across my flesh, but it doesn't hurt that bad.
"Apologies, but I am taking a bit more then originally stated," Edgar says and opens up a small bottle and I stare at the blood pouring put of my palm. He waves his hand over mine and the wound heals.
"Okay. You got what you wanted, now take down the barrier" I say, clutching my hand.
"Of course," Edgar says and it seems to be effortless for him, as he draws strange symbols in the air that glow gold for a minute and then they glow brighter until they are practically blinding and then he smiles. "There you go, sweet Omega and I do hope we can speak again," he says and takes a dramatic bow before disappearing with a flash.
"That was very strange," Betty whisperer.
"Says the werewolf" I say and she chuckles but then her face goes back to it's normal serious form as she looks into town.
"I can hear it," she whispers and turns to me. "Promise me that you'll be careful. I have to go find Archie."
"I'll do my best," I say and we hug for a moment. We both know that this could kill is but we both know that we have to do it.
She pulls away and without another word, transforms, and jogs off. I follow suit but hesitate to move, listening. There's panicked breathing nearby. Someone's hurt. I hear someone seem to be begging, pleading for something and I decide to go to them, although if it's a vampire and they see a werewolf approaching, they might kill me on the spot, but it's the quickest way to travel.
As I get closer, I hear sobbing and I can see that someone is holding a limp body. As I approach I stumble forward back into a human. No. It can't be him. "Stay with me baby. Please don't leave me alone here," Sweet Pea whispers to an almost lifeless Fangs, who tries his best to smile at his lover.
"You'll never be alone Sweets," Fangs whispers before going limp. Sweet Pea finally looks up and reaches his hand out for mine and he could very much so kill me right now, but I have to trust him and I take his hand. He pulls me towards him.
"He would want you here. He loved you like you were family," Sweet Pea whispers, tears falling as he continues to cradle Fangs.
What the fuck have I done? Have I caused? This is my fault. This is all my fault.
