Love Yourself- A Poem

41 7 30

Your simple imperfections

Are what make you unique,

So don't ever say

That you're a freak

Your hair, your speech,

your body size

Who wants to fit in?

You don't have to try

"But no one ever likes me

And, now, neither do I"

So how is changing a solution?

Isn't it all a lie?

Always looking into the mirror

Always criticising yourself

When will it ever stop?

Let this pain be felt.

But here's the actual truth

For you to keep in mind

They don't care what you become

Your change, they won't care to find.

They're just jealous

Or angry or anguished or scared

So be strong, friend

And don't ever despair.

People who dislike you

For everything that you are

Aren't ever worth the wait,

Aren't ever worth the scars

So, my friend, always remember,

Deep down inside your heart,

There are people who love you for YOU,

And they always have, from the start.
