"But I can't."

I'm probably annoying him right now, but with a high-pitched voice, I said, "It's weekend! Pleaaase?"

"I'm literally about to park dito sa Beda when you called," James answered. I could hear him closing the door of his car. "Sorry, Zelo. This is important, so maybe next week?"

I sighed, "Okay."

I sounded like a broken baby, but I just want to spend my weekend in a mall kasi. Bihira lang ako magkaroon ng weekend na walang masyadong kailangang atupagin and I want to spend it with Zeo.

Wrong timing lang kasi may make up class daw sila sa isang major subject.

I know my friends are busy – Reyna's probably sleeping pa sa pagod, Febie has Saturday classes, I see Krystal and Marlon almost everyday I want to puke sometimes, and I kind of don't want to initiate talking to my friends that I don't get to talk everyday anymore – so looking at my outfit using a mirror almost my size, I heaved a sigh and took a picture.

Simple lang damit ng bading. An oversized lighter than pink colored shirt paired with a blue denim shorts para very fandom ng Seventeen. Very cute, might I add, unlike my face that's filled with too much testosterone.

I posted a mirror shot sa IG with a caption that says, Trinoma later! Meet and greet with myself!

To which I found myself having two different notifications from IG. Una, kay Zeo. Enjoy!!! followed by a sad emotion.

The other one came from James. Wow, soft boy!

I liked Zeo's message, but I replied to James. Pangit naman ng mukha.

True.

Putangina mo.

At Trinoma, rekta lang ako sa National Book Store. May hinahanap kasi akong non-fiction book na matagal ko nang gustong basahin but never really able to read because of school. Sana mabasa ko this weekend.

"Badtrip," I said saka ngumuso. Wala na naman, putek. Ito mahirap kapag internationally created ang book, eh. It's either the book's too popular so almost always sold out or never really known to locals that's why almost always no stock.

But I really wanted to read this weekend kasi pressure ako kay Krystal. Very bookworm 'yong batang 'yon kaya I want to catch up to her.

Looking at the available books here, I tried looking for a book that might get my attention. I'm almost always in the science-fiction and fantasy areas, but now I don't know where to go.

I could try romance but there's such a few books about two boys falling in love. Kadasalan pa kapag about gay relationships, medyo cringe for me.

I gritted my teeth. Putek. Nababadtrip na talaga 'ko ah.

In the end I did went to the romance section because I want to see Love, Rosie. Wala akong balak bilhin, I just kind of want to see the book. Favorite ko kasi ever since nabasa at napanuod ko siya when I was in ninth grade.

Very funny and very heart-wrenching. Something I look forward to with my own love story someday.

Which made me wonder, love story ba 'tong sa 'min ni Zeo? Or just another stepping stone?

I'm busy reading through the synopsis when I heard a camera getting clicked. Looking right, nakita ko si James na nanlalaki ang mata na parang takot na takot mahuli. He's holding a phone in his right hand, and I can see the camera's opened.

My brain's trying to tell me something, but I ignored it.

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. "Akala ko ba, true?" I said, pertaining to what he said earlier about my face being ugly. "Tapos mahuhuli kitang kinukuhaan ako ng picture?"
