I decide to go to the massive Library that Julia showed me yesterday.
The last thing that I expected the big bad Hayden Knight to have in his house was a massive library but I guess all that knowledge and information has to come from somewhere.
I hadn't had the chance to explore it so atleast I had an agenda for tonight.
It's been slightly chilly lately, but since I was already all comfy in my blue shorts and slightly oversized grey tee, I resist the urge to change into something warmer as I make my way out of my room.
I enter into the massive library, secretly happy that I found my way to it. This place is so big I am sure I'll loose my way around in here sooner or later. I walk in and lines of shelves greet my eyes, as I marvel at the interior.
I flitter through the various shelves, browsing through the various business and entrepreneur books when I stumble into a cozy little corner.
There was a very big and nice looking cushioned chair and a fancy looking ottoman to go along with it. A little glass table with a stack of utilities on top of it. A coffee & espresso machine kept on a small yet dainty looking counter with little sachets of sugar and a cup.
I guess this is where Hayden would come for a little reading.
I notice a photo frame kept on the coffee table and I pick it up to look at it. It's a lovely picture of a beautiful girl leaning against the rails of a cruise. The wind messing her hair and blowing it right on her face while her face sports the most genuine laugh I've seen in a long time. Her expression is of pure glee and happiness and she's laughing so hard you can barely make out her eyes. I could tell this was a picture taken in the moment, timed perfectly and that the young beautiful girl in the frame wasn't posing or even trying to do so. She was just happy.
I smile at the photo. Must be a fond and warm memory for Hayden, perhaps of a previous girlfriend or lover. I wonder why he wasn't with her anymore as the headlines of him with the various models comes into my mind.
I gingerly place the photo back down feeling guilty for invading into a memory that was not meant for me.
I make my way towards the book ladder kept nearby to reach the higher sections of the book shelf right in front of this little sitting area which I was sure was private.
I bring the ladder closer and lean it against the book shelf and I start climbing my way on it.
I stop at the last step, and flitter through the books kept at this level.
I start feeling uncomfortable and I look around, maybe there's a security camera hidden in here somewhere?
Shrugging the feeling off I bury my nose back into the book I was holding. Suddenly uncomfortable I begin to step down.
"What the fuck are you doing here?"
Startled by the sudden presence and the clear gruff intolerance in his voice I jerk straight and before I know it I am plummeting down from the high ladder as I gasp loudly.
I shut my eyes tight bracing myself for the fall, but it never came. I slowly open my eyes only to meet Hayden's stormy blue ones. Swirls of green raging in them making them look unreal. How could his eyes be blue and green?
I realized him holding me incredibly close and incredibly tight while my face mirrors an expression remarkably similar to that of a scared kitten, might not be the best time to wonder about his eyes.
He puts me down slowly not breaking eye contact and I immediately take a step back, wincing as I realize I have hurt my ankle but still creating the much needed space between us.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" He repeats. His voice deep and extremely thin on patience.
"I- books, library; I didn't mean to uhh" I let out hopelessly and all attempts to stay calm and speak coolly were thrown out the window as he saunters dangerously towards me.
