"Manik don't move" Nandini said exasperated. Manik had just walked into the room with his laptop when he heard her and looked at her as she sat on the bed with her laptop working. Avni who was sitting diagonally across on the same bed looked between her parents. Her mother who didn't look up from her laptop while saying those words and her father who stood at the entrance of the room, with an open laptop in his hand and one foot in air looking at his wife to say something

"Kitne baar andar bahar andar bahar kar rahe ho!" Nandini said irritated

"Now don't move from there" she said and Avni looked at Manik who tried his best not to move, she just returned to her assignment which she was completing

After few minutes she heard Nandini again

"Manik waha kahade khade kya kar rahe ho, just get in and stop acting like a statue" she said irritated again making Avni look at them. Her mother has issues! ISSUES! she thought and got back to her studies as Manik came and sat besides her 

He would move around, sometimes for his charger, his phone, his file, his documents and Nandini would give comments like

"Manik don't make noise"

"Manik drawer thik se band karo" 

"Manik stop moving"

Manik stop disturbing"

"Manik stop lurking"

Which got no reaction from Manik as he would obey her for a few minutes and get back to his earlier self. It was getting irritating even for Avni now as this made her break her concentration

"Manik STOP! Stay STILL! Don't even breathe!" Nandini yelled at the end as Avni looked at Manik who signed

"Main breathe nahi karunga toh mar jaunga and then you will start crying and then saying. Manik breathe please breathe" he imitated at the last line

"You!" Nandini kept her laptop beside her and jumped on him who was busy laughing and started to hit him with her small hands as he kept laughing and Avni kept looking at them. Suddenly she burst out laughing

"You...you...guys are so cute" she said laughing

Manik was flat on the bed and Nandini was on him hitting him, they both stopped and looked at Avni. After almost a week their daughter was laughing. They prayed silently that she keeps laughing and stays Happy.

"Challo your irritated menstrual self did something good" Manik whispered to Nandini who glared at him but then she got up still glaring at Manik and when he was getting up she wacked him hard making Manik yelp in pain and Avni laugh more

"Stop laughing you!" Manik fake scowled at Avni

"Kyu? Woh kyu rukegi, you laugh baby, your father is any which ways of zero use. Atleast iss kaam toh aaye" Nandini said 

"Joker" she added

"Deko Nandu tum meri beizzati kar rahi ho" Manik said making an offended face

"Beizzati my foot" Nandini yelled now making Avni stop. Now she knows why she was so moody in her periods. It was all in the genes!

"Jaan" Manik pulled Nandini towards him and leaned to her making her eyes go wide and Avni mirrored her reaction. He was going to touch his nose to her cheeks when he stopped and looked at Avni

"This is the cue Kiddo, you leave the room" Manik encouraged her to leave as Avni kept her hands on her eyes and left the room making Nandini look at Manik with a cute disbelief pout and wide eyes. When Manik saw had left he kissed her pout
