Chapter 1 : The Man with Two Lives

Hello, my readers! I just want to start this out by saying that this is an older story that my friend 1000anime and I started a year or two ago, but it's been sort of staying stagnant for a while because we got interested in other plots. However, I feel that this story, as much as we wrote it, deserves to be read, so here I am, posting it! Before I post the actual chapter, I'll be putting in the list of kids that Kakuzu had adopted, since it'll probably make it easier for you all to keep everyone in order, since there's a LOT of kids. CHAPTER 1 : THE MAN WITH TWO LIVES

In the shinobi world, there lies many great ninja villages; the largest and strongest being the world's three major powers: Fire, Wind, and Earth. Other villages dot the land as well, and in the midst of these powers, a single village stands alone as rain falls from the heavens and soaks the previously war-torn land. Amongst the towers of iron and steel, not many would call this place their home, but to the ones that do hide in the shadows of the everlasting downpour while waving a flag of a new dawn above them.

Just to the center edge of the Hidden Rain, two figures walked through the torrent of water, falling sideways like a crooked line. One of these figures, however, was beginning to wonder how they came to be in their situation. "Oi, Old man! Why the hell am I walking through this shit rain?!" A silver-haired albino man demanded rudely, looking to his companion in frustration and annoyance, "If I get sick, I'm gonna-"

"Hidan" the other snapped, interrupting the albino with a cold and angry glare. In a dominating and commanding voice the younger man was used to hearing, he said, "One more word and I will not care where you land. Now, shut up."

The young man was about to argue, but was stopped when a shadow from above jumped to the ground and stood to face them. A hood blocked their view of the person's face for a brief number of moments before it was pulled back, revealing a young woman who spoke aloud. "Kakuzu-San, is that you?" Another voice came from behind the first one; this one male and filled with annoyance as he crouched on an exposed alcove. A cocky grin plastered his young face, raising one eyebrow as well.

"About time you showed up old man- Ack!" The hand belonging to Kakuku came upon the young stranger, striking the boy upside the head in a manner he would have had enough time to evade.
