today, i find myself doing the same usual tasks everyday. wake, brush my teeth, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, shower, sleep. it's honestly quite boring. at times, i wish i had somebody to come home to, i don't even have a pet.
college is the same like always. attend my classes, study, continue to get decent grades. it's a whole cycle in itself. one thing i definitely don't look forward to is park jinyoung. we have this mutual hatred for each other for no reason, i have no idea what i did to get on his nerves. it shouldn't matter to him considering that he has the whole school around his finger. i try to avoid him as best as possible.
"hey y/n," jaebeom walks up.
"hey jb, how are you today?" i ask,
"you know me, i hate waking up for school."
"that makes the both of us," i laugh off. classes start and i again have to hear my chemistry teacher lecture us. i can't help but feel like someone is staring at me, so i look behind me. my eyes meet with the one and only park jinyoung. he laughs then looks back at his notes. i roll my eyes and continue to listen to the lecture.
"now class, can someone tell me why NaCl has a stronger lattice energy compared to a compared to a compound like BaO?" the professor asks. "yes jinyoung?"
"well because of trends of course. the lattice energy of two ions increases as the smaller the compound is. simply, sodium chloride is a smaller compound compared to barium oxide," he answers.
"correct! you never disappoint with your answers jinyoung," the professor continues on with the lecture. jinyoung smirks to himself like he's this one true powerful being, but he's not. i look at the clock, realizing that there's only 10 minutes of class left. the prof looks at his watch and stops his lecture for the day.
"considering that there is only 10 minutes of class left, i will assign your lab partners for next week. next week's lab includes the lab, obviously, and a short quiz you will take with your partner. i advice after i assign everyone, you meet up with your partner and start studying," the prof says. doing a lab with someone should be easy. i'll be fine with anyone as long as it isn't with ass jinyoung. the professor starts to read off the list of names off of a sheet of paper.
"park jinyoung and y/ln y/n"
did i hear that correctly, did he really just say park jinyoung was my partner. this has to be a misunderstanding. the bell rung and the students start flooding out the door to attend their next class. i finish packing my things and start heading out the door before i hear someone call out my name.
"y/n," jinyoung comes up from behind. i take a deep breath before turning around and facing him.
"yes jinyoung?" i reply in a polite manner.
"maybe you could try and cover up the annoyance on your face next time. i don't want you screwing up my grade for this lab or quiz, so why don't you come over after classes are over and we can study together?" he suggests with a snarky tone.
"as much as i wouldn't want to screw up my grade, that would be a good idea. but maybe you could approach me in a nicer way, i wouldn't have to tell the professor to switch partners, would i? so be mature jinyoung, and i won't have any problems," i say. he shakes his head, disapproving at me.
"why would you talk to the prince of the school in that manner? i'm sure the professor or the dean wouldn't like your attitude towards me. know your place y/n," he whispers in my ear. he walks off with an evil smirk on his face.
