The City of Love

Johnny raced down the cascading hills of Italy. The crisp wind blew through his golden hair and the sunlight reflected off of his gleeful smile. This is what brought him joy. The thrill of taking on sharp turns and bends in the Italian countryside felt just as good as his motorcycle stunts.

A few months ago Johnny knew that he needed to travel to Europe. After a while, he couldn't resist waiting for any longer. He didn't know why, but he had an urge to visit Paris. Perhaps the Rider could sense an ever awaiting danger which his human mind couldn't notice. Or was this a calling for a different reason?

Hours later, Johnny crossed the border of France and Italy. He felt the adventure and excitement slowly fade and eventually turn into a softer, calmer emotion. He knew that this was where he was meant to be. A relaxing night at a hotel would prepare him well for the next day of searching for the cause of his urge to be in Paris. Johnny cruised through the streets of France throughout the rest of the night, stopping once or twice for a meal before coming across an affordable hotel. He decided to stay long enough to rest, then he would enter Paris.

A lanky figure was perched upon a rooftop, it's dark colour contrasting against the warm glow emitting from the houses behind it. The night was dead quiet, waiting for something to happen. An eerie voice suddenly pierced the silence of the night. One which would captivate it's audience in a sense of wonder and peace. People on the street would pause and listen to the sound and wonder how a being could have such a beautiful voice.

The song abruptly stopped. The quills which lined the figures back stood upright. The figure's posture changed from a relaxed state to an alert one. It could sense something. Something that was on its mind for months. This figure did not know if this 'something' was good or evil. But it knew one thing.
