Yokai

Kakashi sat on his legs beside the injured girl. Her kimono was open and exposed her pale skin. Her breasts where wrapped in a bandages along with the large gash on her side. Kakashi clenched his fists tightly. He was angry at himself. He allowed this to happen. He can't save anyone. He should have known that when he killed Rin. He grits his teeth tightly and watched the sleeping girl. The man known as Kishi stood up after tying the knot that held the bandages in place.

"That should do it." He sighs as he  sat down in the snow. His blood covered hand were washed poorly in the snow and stained his hands.

"Thank you." Kakashi spoke in a whisper.

"Anything for the Yuki Onna. If it were not for her, we would all be dead." Kishi relpied waving the ninja off.

"I'll go start a fire for the two of us." He said as he stood up and walked to the alter. Kakashi looked at her figure and reached out and traced her bandaged skin. He felt her breath. He sighed through his nose and reached over her and covered her figure back up.

"If only I was quicker... stronger.." he said through his teeth and reached to grip his hair.

"D-Don't... say that. S-Stop." Her voice was weak but it caught his attention.

"N-Niko.." Kakashi croaked. Niko reaches up and tapped the masks between the eyes.

"You d-did nothing wrong.." she said as she laid her hand down and rest it over her stomach. She winces slightly making the boy flinch and inch closer to her. She blushes slightly as he touched her cold skin and laid her head in his lap.

"I'm sorry.." he whispered.

"I'm ignoring that.." she sighed through her nose as she rests her eyes. His warmth consumed her. Despite not liking the heat, Niko enjoy the boy's warmth he was providing.

"Kakashi.." he whispered. Her eyes slowly opened her eyes and noticed him slowly taking off his ANBU mask and showing his face. Though most of it was covered up, Niko still thought he was a handsome man.

"My name is Kakashi.." he spoke softly. She smiles softly and gently touched his clothed cheek.

"Nice to meet you... Kakashi..." She smiles up at him.

Days have passed and Kakashi stayed beside Niko along with Kisha who would change bandages and treat Nikos wounds. Kakashi kept an eye out for the Yukinba since Niko was too weak to put up another barrier.

Kakashi zipped through the snow and landed on the temple grounds. Niko asked him to check the village since she wasn't sure if the cloak of snow was still holding up. Kishi finished his treatment on Niko and left to clean up.

Niko fixed her kimono and looked over at Kakashi with a gentle smile. Kakashi took off his ANBU mask and walked closer to her.

"How was it?" She asked softly as she watched him sit next to her. Stretching his legs out, he grunts.

"It's still up and the villagers are fine. Everyone is safe." He said with a sigh. She lets out a breath of relief.
