Yokai

Sadly his hunts were fruitless. Tracks were covered but more snow and it not even a trail of blood for him to follow. The hunters fear the outside and stayed behind the spell that hid their village. Because of that, there hasn't been any attacks that he can go off of.

Frustrated he yanked his hood so he can run his fingers through his hair aggressively.

During the day, he would stay at the temple and watch over Niko since he noticed the amount of deadly animals that stalked her in the mountains. He grew close to the shrine goddess and slightly opened up more easily since she was actually the same age as him.

"This is aggravating..." Kakashi paced back and forth in front of the female that sat in the shade to hide from the sun. Niko hasn't seen his face but she was very interested in the boys hair since it was the first she's seen it.

"Hunting takes patience.." she muttered and listened to his frustrated sigh.

"Youre right.. you're right.." he mumbles as he finally stood still.

"You are doing well though." She tried lifting his spirits up but Kakashi wasn't falling for it.

"Please the others would have finished this mission by now.." he said under his breath. She gave him a sadden gaze.

"Don't compare yourself to others, it's not right." Kakashi sighed and ran his fingers through his silver hair again.

"I don't know what else to do." Niko was silent for a moment.

"I can try and hold off the next storm... and maybe use... human bait.." she hated to suggest it but if it's to lure her mother out of hiding, she had to start taking risks. Kakashi looked at her.

"You want to sacrifice one of the villagers to your mother?" He scowls begins his mask. Niko senses his disgust in his tone and scowled at the male.

"I didn't say sacrific at all. That's the last thing I want for my worshipers! I am suggesting to used bait because Yukinba survive off of human flesh..." she slowed her speech and paused making Kakashi confused.

"She's stalking..." Niko whispers under her breath and she looks around the temple from her spot.

Kakashi watched her figure confused.

"She doesn't eat yokai... but she can eat you..." she quickly said as she got up.

"She was a very smart woman before and I don't doubt she is now as well." She spoke quietly as she stepped out of the shade. It was silent and Niko stood beside Kakashi facing the entrance while Kakashi faced the buildings behind them. After a long silence, she raised her head towards the sky....

"She's here.."

A crackling laughter erupts the air as a loud thump filled their ears. Niko cringed at the sound before gasping. She get her barrier break that was keeping her temple safe and collapse to her knees.

"Niko!" Kakashi shouted before Niko quickly shoves Kakashi away from his spot, making him fall to the ground. Blood splattered the snow as a large figure ran between them.
