Yokai

"I should go back to the temple. I am a Yuki Onna sir. I don't do well in the sun where the temperture is hotter." He thought for a minute.

"I'll will take you."  Kakashi said suddenly. The storm was long far gone and he had a clear view of the shining blanket of white. Niko nodded, not really caring since he must have his reasons. Niko quietly walked beside Kakashi and walked for what felt like an hour hike. The sound of wolves caught his attention and soon her.

"Wolves.." Niko mutters as the male nodded in agreement. Kakashi noticed the furry canines stalk over a rock close to them. They growl lowly and hunched over. Kakashi carefully pulled Niko behind him and pulled on a weapon from his pouch. Niko watches and grabbed his wrists. She pulled him slowly while making eye contact with the pack of dogs and took cover behind a large rock.

"What are you doing?" He asked in a whisper.

"Just stay quiet and keep an eye on them." She whispers as she inhaled deeply.

Upon exhaling, freezing high wind and snow came out and the wolves whimper and cry as they struggle to stay on the ground. Some flew off the edge of the mountain while others focused on staying on the ground. Niko stopped and glared at the remaining wolves that noticed their lack in numbers before running off.

'Amazing..' he was shocked behind his mask and snapped as he noticed Niko was already walking away.

They made it to the temple and to Nikos relief, the fire put itself out. She walked to the alter and sat in the shade.

"Thank you for walking with me." Kakashi nodded.

"Can you tell me more about your species and what Yukinbas are?" Niko was surprised at his question and leaned into the building.

"Well... Yuki Onna is translated into 'Snow Woman'. We would love in snowy areas like mountain passes or anywhere where there's constant snow. We can travel off the snow but our bodies don't like the heat so he gets high fevers rather easily. We stay away from hot meals. Back in the, my grandmother would feed off of peoples life energy but now we can easily eat human food." She said calmly. Kakashi leaned against the building and listened. Niko watches him before letting out a shaky sigh.

"Yukinbas are yokai that feed off of mainly children. A large head with two strong hands and hops on one leg... sharp teeth... blood thirsty... it was the scariest thing when she suddenly turned... I never heard of such a thing when a Yuki Onna turned to a Yukinba. My mother was kind... but she is nothing but a thirsty monster." Niko croaks as she grips her kimono. Kakashi watched her silently.

"I'll be tracking her down starting tonight. I think I have enough information." Kakashi suddenly said. Niko faces him and was about to speak but quickly shut her mouth. Even if her mother was now a monster, it was still her mother... but she is now the shine goddess and she needed to put her needs behind her and think of her worshipers.

"Of course. Thank you. I'll try and be helpful to you as much as I can." She said bowing respectively.

Kakashi shuffled awkwardly at the sudden words that came out of the girls mouth. Nervously he bid her farewell and left the shrine to prepare for his hunt for the harmful yokai.
