Yokai

"I am a young yokai. My mother is much stronger and can easily break through them. Though it takes effort, it at least slows her down.. I thought that cloaking the village was the better idea." Niko answered as the male nodded his head with some thought.

"I should leave now. Which way to the village?" Kakashi asked as he looked outside to see a flurry outside. Though there was a flurry he still has to kill the old yokai and get his mission over with.

"I will come with. I would like to see the people and check on the spell." Niko said as she opened the slidding door. Kakashi looked at her feet. Kakashi turned to the fire and grabbed a torch so he had something to help them guide their way back. The girl watched him and eyes the fire.

"Do you have shoes?" Kakashi asked but Niko shook her head.

"I am never cold or affected by the cold. I am a Yuki Onna after all." She spoke softly. Kakashi nodded his head before they both left the shrine.

Kakashi carries the girl because it was fast for him to run and she just gave him directions. Once he was closing in on the village, he noticed her words slowly became a slur.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I-I'm fine.. the v-village is just up ahead." He nodded and moved quicker. The village was in clear view and the night was still young. He lands in front of the inn and carefully set the girl down. She staggered and blinks groggily as it was much brighter than her temple. Night owl villagers watched the two curiously. One cupped his mouth and called out to the two.

"Put out that fire! Your going to get her sick!" Behind the mask, Kakashi was more than confused.

'Isn't it the opposite?' He asked tilting his head. The fire on his torch was quickly put out. A old woman covered the torch with a large bowl before pulling it away to show the black smoke where the fire once was.

"Young Yuki.. are you alright?" Niko seem surprised at first but slowly nodded.

"Quite alright thank you.. but we needed that fire to get here." She explained as the woman nodded.

"Just be careful. I don't want you to get a fever." She said before walking off. Kakashi didn't question it even if he was more confused. Niko walked off and slowly did her own thing. Kakashi decided to talk to a few hunters to get a better idea on what was going on when they go out.

With very few survivors from the incidents, he didn't get a lot of information. But from the Niko's description of the Yukinba, the description fits the hunters. Kakashi patrolled the village and watched the people that walk around during the night.

Niko was talking to several of the people that came up to her. Kakashi watched her carefully seeing that she was the most valuable for information.

Once Niko was done checking everything with her spells, she decided to leave back to her temple before the sun came up. She reached the edge of the border until Kakashi appeared in front of her. She flinches at the sudden appearance and took a few steps back so she wasn't so close.

"Yes?" She tilted her head.

"It would best if you stayed here." Niko looked up at the sun that was rising.
