"Chris?" I called into the house, shutting the door behind me.

"In here." He yelled. I followed the sound of his voice. The house was suspiciously quiet.

"Hey." He smiled as I entered the game room. "Happy aniversary." I blushed, walking over to his open arms.

"Happy aniversary." I grinned. He sat me down on the couch.

"Stay." He commanded, crouching in front of the tv. He flipped through a couple channels until finding the right one. He hit a button, standing up and walking past me. My eyes watched him.

"I'll be right back. Just watch the tv." He dismissed, walking out of the room. I sunk into the couch. A picture of Chris showed up on the screen. He sat down on the floor in front of the corner.

"Hey Hope," He cheekily smiled like a child. "I can't believe its been a year since I made the best decision of my life: marrying you. This is for you Hopey. I love you." He paused, strumming the guitar in his hands and beginning to sing.

"When I was younger I saw my daddy cry
and curse at the wind.
He broke his own heart and I watched
as he tried to reassemble it.

And my momma swore
that she would never let herself forget.
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love if it does not exist.

But darling,
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.

Maybe I know somewhere
deep in my soul
that love never lasts.
And we've got to find other ways
to make it alone.
Or keep a straight face.
And I've always lived like this
keeping a comfortable distance.
And up until now I've sworn to myself
that I'm content with loneliness.

Because none of it was ever worth the risk.

Well you are the only exception.
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.
You are the only exception.

I've got a tight grip on reality,
but I can't let go of what's in front of me here.
I know you're leaving in the morning
when you wake up.
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream.

You are the only exception. [x4]

You are the only exception. [x4]

And I'm on my way to believing.
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing."

I shot up out of the room, running into the kitchen. I threw my arms around him tightly. He chuckled.

"Did you like it?" He asked. I nodded my head as he turned around and wrapped his own arms around me.

"I love you."

"I love you too Hope." He smiled.
