"I don't want to ruin your mood." Esme smiled back.
"No no, don't be silly I don't think anything could ruin my mood today-"
"-it might ruin our mood though!" It looked like Rosalie had decided to speak for the first time since Charlotte had been here.
"Call them how you see them Charlotte." Esme said to Charlotte before the action really did start.
Guess the conversation would have to wait for another day.
"It's time." Alice declared just after the first shot of thunder hit, she then pitched the fastest ball that Charlotte had ever seen, that wasn't humanly possible, well obviously.
"Now I see why you need the thunder."
Rosalie somehow managed to hit the ball and send it flying towards the trees, Charlotte was struggling to keep her eyes on it, but clearly Edward didn't have the same problem. However his speed didn't convince her that Rosalie wouldn't get a home run.
"That's gotta be a home run, right?"
Esme shook her head at her, still keeping her eyes on the scene in front. "Edward's very fast."
She was right, he literally was the speed of light. It was getting just a bit hard for Charlotte to keep an eye on everything in front of her; Edward running, Rosalie running, Jasper swinging his bat around like he was a circus performer and then a ball flying straight for her face.
A ball flying straight for her face.
Thank god for Esme, otherwise she was sure Edward's hand would have killed her. Although that might have been better than having to face Rosalie who didn't happen to make it home before the ball.
Even worse for Charlotte Esme looked for her to make the call. "You're out."
Emmett didn't help Rosalie's mood towards Charlotte as he couldn't help the cheer that left him at the news of her elimination, causing her death glare to first be directed at him. "Babe come on, it's just a game!"
And now it was Charlottes turn.
Rosalie got up and walked just as close to Charlotte as she possibly could. Charlotte would probably have shit her pants if she didn't think that Rosalie was one of the most beautiful people she had ever seen. Sure, it was intimidating and she would normally have looked away at a death stare like that from a vampire, but she just couldn't stop looking at Rosalie's face. She'd have to ask her for her skin care routine...
"Nice kitty." Carlisle said to Rosalie as he walked past her to take his place, at least he was defending Charlotte?
Alice did her cute little bowling thing through her leg for Carlisle who hit the ball with just as much force as Rosalie. Although his turn added a lot more entertainment because of the fact that Emmett and Edward both went for the ball causing them to clash into each other and land straight on the floor.
It served them both right for their attitude earlier.
Then it was Jasper's turn, where Charlotte concluded that if it wasn't for Alice, Edward or that fact that Jasper struggled to control himself around her, then she would be all over him.
