“As this year only eight people entered the tournament, each trainer will use six Pokémon”, said the announcer, “The match ups will be as followed. Satoshi Auralis versus Gary Oak, Max versus Paul, Trip versus Barry, and Ritchie versus Harrison. Satoshi Auralis and Gary Oak please send out your first Pokémon.”
“Blastoise you’re first!” Gary shouted.
“Battle stance my friend”, Satoshi mumbled.
“Umm… it seems Satoshi sent out a caterpie”, the announcer said with confusion.
“Hahaha. Do you think all of Satoshi’s pokémon are not evolved?” Trip asked the others.
“Probably, at least we can ditch him later”, Misty replied.
“Blastoise water gun lightly so we don’t kill it”, Gary said sweat dropping.
“…Frenzy plant.”
“Amazing folks. It seems Satoshi’s Caterpie used frenzy plant!” the announcer shouted after a few minutes of silence.
“Gary please send out your next pokémon”, the ref yelled over the cheering.
“Return Blastoise. Umbreon lets win this!” Gary shouted.
“… use transform and take on the appearance of a Pikachu.”
“Umbreon use dark pulse!”
“Thunderbolt.”
“Gary send out your third pokémon”, the ref called.
“Umbreon return. Arcanine lets go.”
“…trans-.”
“Hey! I know I shouldn’t be asking you this but could you stop with the one hit K.O.s? I entered the tournament because a friend of mine entered some years ago. If he finds out that I was beaten by one hits K.O.s he will never stop laughing.” If he's still alive, Gary thought.
“If you wish and I must apologize. I was lost in thought that I forgot who I was against.”
“What?”
“I entered this tournament for two things to honor Sir Aaron and to embarrass an old enemy.”
“Oh. But thanks.”
“Transform into a Charizard.”
“Arcanine flamethrower.”
“Charizard flare blitz.”
“Arcanine dodge it.”
“Grab him.”
“Arcanine bite. Try to land on your feet.”
“Charizard blast burn.”
“Arcanine return! I forfeit Arcanine!”
“Electivire lets go.”
“Transform into Gyrados.”
“Thunderbolt”
“Dodge it…GYRADOS!”
“Finish it with hyper beam.”
“Teleport.”
