Prologue 2: The Statue

Marinette's POV

"Tikki, was I a little too harsh?"

Marinette was thinking about the encounter with Adrien that happened only minutes before.

"Think about it this way," Tikki explained. "If you lead him on, it would have hurt him even more."

Marinette frowned. 

She didn't have time for this.

She needed to finish her homework.

But for some weird reason, she felt like she was missing something.

LUKA!

She was working on a project with him in the park when the worst Akuma ever struck.

He must still be there thinking that she'd ditched him.

Marinette rushed out of the door and ran for the park.

"I'm here! I'm here!" Marinette gasped.

"Marinette," Luka stood. "I was starting to worry that something had happened to you."

Marinette paused, which was probably a bad choice since she had been running and she is the biggest klutz that there ever was.

The force of her running made her slip and fall face-first into the ground.

Or, she would've fallen face-first, if Luka wasn't there to catch her.

"Are you ok?" Luka asked.

The amount of concern in his face was almost too much.

Why wasn't he mad that she stood him up?

Why did he still care about her?

Why was her heart suddenly beating so fast?

"Uh- Yeah. I'm okay," Marinette babbled. "We should probably keep working on that project right?"

"Okay, "Luka laughed. "You know, you're a funny girl Marinette."

The Next Day

"What was that girl?" Alya demanded.

"What was what?"

"Adrien walked by and you didn't even batt an eyelash," Alya continued. "Something must be up."

"Well, let's just say the I grew up," Marinette replied. "I finally saw that if I had to make complicated plans to tell a guy that I like them, then maybe we just aren't meant to be."

Alya just gaped at Marinette's newfound wisdom.

Marinette had a crush on Adrien for like ever. 

This was the first time that Alya saw Marinette act normal around Adrien.

Marinette walked up to Adrien.

"Look, Adrien, I think I was a little bit too harsh on you before, but I want to tell you that if you want to be friends, I'd be glad to be your friend."

At this, everyone stopped talking.

Did Marinette seriously just friendzone Adrien?

Everyone knew that Mari had a huge crush on Adrien

This was a first.

Adrien just stood there, wide-eyed.

"Besides, I think that this compass has found a new statue."

OMG

I think that I am completely in love with this new series.

I can't wait until the next part comes out.

It is going to be BIG.
