Chapter 2: "I'm on vacation..."

I sat there doing advanced questions from the textbook that suited our topic. Our maths teacher came over to see what I was doing. She gave me that weak-half smile. Twenty minutes into class I heard the door opening and closing. "Sorry I'm late Miss, I was talking with Principal Roberts. I have a late pass, here you go." A very sexy voice said. I looked up to see Vincent Green looking a little flustered. "You're here now, that's all that matters. Take a free seat anywhere you want, but I'm letting you know now, I'm not treating you any differently because you're famous." He chuckled a little before his eyes searched the room. His eyes settled on mine and he started walking towards me. I started to panic a little. Why was he coming this way? I quickly ducked my head and continued with the questions, I was going twice as fast. I saw him from the corner of my eye pull out the chair next to me. Oh, he was only taking the spare seat. I relaxed into the sums, until he talked to me...

"Hey." I looked up at him; I would be lying if I said he wasn't gorgeous. I have to say he is a lot better looking in person. "Hi." I said indifferently. He looked a little taken aback but then relaxed again. I glanced around before looking at him again. All the girls were staring daggers at me. Even Ashley, uh huh, you guessed right. Head cheerleader, blonde, that type. "So, uh-um why are you here." I asked a little nervous. I mean this is my first time ever talking to a really hot guy, EVER! "Vacation," he replied simply. I rose my eyebrows, "And you came here?!" He looked nervous, chuckled and then sighed.

"Sorry, that's a lie. Actually this is my hometown and I've come back for someone." He said with honesty in his eyes. Oh. "How come I've never heard your name in the village? Like before you got famous." He gave me a worried glance. "You're clever..." he remarked. He seemed to be deciding over something in his head. He snapped out of it and said, "Can I trust you?" Now normally I have trust issues, everybody I got close to left, that's why I only have Destiny as a friend. I hate to admit it took her about three years to gain my full trust. If she ever betrayed my trust she would never probably regain it again. I knew that Destiny wasn't like that though. I don't know why, my brain said no, but my lips said "Yes," The weird thing was, it just seemed right to say that. He smiled at me. "Okay, well... Vincent Green isn't my real name." he paused for a minute. "What is your real name then?" I asked, I don't know why but this seemed really important to me. "Wait; let me ask a question first." He bargained. I thought about it and then nodded. "Do you-...?" He shook his head aggresively. "No, I'm sorry, I'm being stupid." He frowned a little. I heard him muttering to himself. I didn't hear it exactly but it was something along the lines of, 'I can trust no one!' He seemed really annoyed with himself. I was really quite curious by now. I thought about asking him something but decided to leave it, besides it would make me feel awkward anyways.

The bell rung sharply cutting through the empty halls and every classroom. Vincent stood up, but before he left he turned to me and glared. It was a harsh glare, "Tell no one what I told you today, Okay?" He snarled. It was rather scary and I could do nothind but nod dumbly like one of those little bobble heads that sit on the dashboard of the car. He turned around, grabbed his bag and exited the room. I looked up, only becoming aware of my surroundings.

Everyone was running to the door. Maths wasn't that bad, was it? "Charlotte, could you stay behind a little." I looked up, the room was almost deserted. Just a few students and the teacher left. When everyone else had filed out I walked up to her. She sat on one of the desks. I sat beside her. "Charlotte, why don't you take a little break, you'll work yourself out. I mean you're doing work eighteen months ahead of everyone else, I would move you up a year but I can't because of your birthday, you're the youngest in the class. Go have a little fun. I mean if you ask I could give you this class as a free period." She sighed and gave me her classic half-hearted smile. "Live a little, when I was your age I had no interest in my work and I ended up being a teacher. It's up to you but promise me you'll think it over." I nodded and gave her a smile. "I will..." I replied truthfully, I knew she was just looking out for me. "Do you want a late pass?" I shook my head. "I have art now." She nodded in understanding. This was the rich, posh school. There was another school in the village and the school fees were a lot cheaper. Our family couldn't afford it but I got in by scholarship. I was ahead in all my classes except drama. I was always a little shy and never really got a chance. I loved art and music; in art I had done all my exam pieces three years early. When I was seven, people said I would be the next best painter of the 21st Century. Some of my paintings hung in famous galleries. In art all I did was sketch freely and listen to my iPod. The chair beside me was pulled out as Destiny plopped down beside me. "Did you see him yet?" she squealed excitedly. "Who?" I asked confused. "Vincent Green" She yelped in that fan crazed voice. Uggh, this was going to be a long class.
