“Really? You had to do all of this because we crashed your stupid sleepover?” Jase said, a joking tone in his voice. Ashley’s head snapped in his direction, sending him a threatening glare

“Remember I have all of the boys from the team on my contacts list, so watch your tone, Owens.” she said, pointing her finger at him and then glancing at Chase, sending him the same glare. I heard both the boys sigh, slumping their shoulders

“Okay, we’re sorry.” Chase muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. Ashley grinned triumphantly. “And now that that’s over, we can kill you.” he said before charging towards me, Jase did the same with Ashley, but she scurried off to her bedroom and locked the door. I mentally groaned since I didn’t know my way around her house. I released a squeal when Chase’s arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me towards him as I tried to run off, I turned to face him and noticed how close we were to each other, our noses were almost touching and I could smell the hint of morning breath from his mouth; I squirmed, trying to loosen myself from his grip and he laughed at my distress “I’m never letting you go.” he whispered into my ear “So you better stop struggling.” I huffed and just gripped onto his shoulders, giggling at his appearance

“I would take you seriously, but I just can’t.” I laughed and he rolled his eyes “Now while you’re looking like that.” I added with a chuckle

“We all know you want some of this.” he said, making a kissy face, I laughed loudly since the pink lipstick was smeared poorly onto his lips

“Dream on, Heartbreaker.” I giggled as I glanced at his forehead and the word was still big as ever, it’d take them days probably until the sharpie was fully gone. He chuckled and let me down, I was about to walk away, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him, so I bumped into his chest, he chuckled at my startled look; he tucked a strand of hair behind my face and smiled

“Just so you know…” he whispered “I’m not a "Heartbreaker" anymore; not since I met you.” I gasped lightly when his hands stroked each side of my cheeks as he smiled down at me, I’m sure I looked like a tomato now.

“Oi, Romeo and Juliet!” A voice above us caused us to jump apart, the tingles leaving my body “Quit the love fest, I’m starving!” Jase exclaimed from the balcony of Ashley’s room, I blushed deeply and Chase smiled down at me, opening the door for me so we could walk back into the house.

“Oh My God, Ava.” Jase moaned “These pancakes are amazing.” he said as he stuffed his face, I saw syrup trickle down the wide of his mouth, Ashley groaned in disgust and threw a napkin at him

“Close your mouth, you pig!” she exclaimed, I laughed loudly as Jase only shrugged at me and smiled

“Can I marry you? I’ll pay you to cook for me, I’m crap in the kitchen!” he said and Chase chuckled beside me

“True that!” he agreed with a nod as he took another bite of the pancake, I glanced at him and giggled softly, he had wiped off the lipstick from his mouth, but they were still a little pink, as for the sharpie, it was dark grey now, but both their faces were red due to the vast amount of scrubbing they had done to try and get it off. They failed, sadly. But it was really funny watching them struggle.

Ashley?!” I heard a voice from the main entrance, Ashley screamed and ran towards the door, I glanced at the boys confused but they only smiled as they walked over to the hallway to see whatever the had gotten so excited about; I smiled when I saw Ashley clinging onto a man, probably in his late forties, early fifties, who I assumed was her father, as a woman probably he same age looked at the both of them with a smile.

“I thought you weren’t coming until next week!” she said as she pried herself from the man’s grip, he smiled at his daughter as she hugged her mother, and they walked over to us, but we were already in the kitchen as we continued eating.

“They let us off early.” the man said with a shrug but smiled once he saw the boys “Jason! Chase!” he said as he patted both of them on the back “How’s the season going? Ready for college?” he said excitedly and the boys smiled down at the man, since they were slightly taller than him

“Almost sir, but we’re doing pretty good.” Chase said with a smile, Ashley’s mother eyed the two of them curiously, I’m guessing she saw the hint of sharpie and makeup on their lips

“Are you two… wearing makeup?” she said in disbelief, both of them looked at Ashley’s parents with an alarmed expression on their faces, Ashley chuckled and just wedged herself between the two and draped an arm over each one of their shoulders

“Just a harmless prank mom and dad, you don’t have to worry about these two becoming gay anytime soon.” she reassured them, I swear I heard her parents release a breath of relief

“Good then, I’m still waiting for you to ask my daughter out, Jason!” Ashley’s dad said as he patted his back. Was Jason… blushing? Was there something I didn’t know? I glanced at Chase in shock, he only winked at me “And who is this lovely lady? Your girlfriend, Chase?” he said as he came over to me and shook my head

“No, sir.” Chase said with a chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly

“She’s my new, best girlfriend.” Ashley said excitedly as she wrapped an arm around me, her mom smiled sweetly at me as she shook my hand

“Lovely to meet you dear, what’s your name?”

“Ava.” I said and they smiled “It’s a pleasure.” They nodded

“Well, it’s great to see that Ashley finally has a friend who's a girl. I was actually starting to think she would ask me to join the team just to be with these two twenty four seven!” her dad said, Ashley face-palmed herself and groaned

“Dad,” she whined “I told you I’m not that into football.”

“Whatever you say, sweetheart.” he said as he kissed her forehead; they waved at us with a smile “We’re just going to rest up from the long trip; great to see you boys and a pleasure to meet you, Ava!”

*****

“Oh, wow.” Ashley said as she examined my music room in awe “This is… this is amazing!” she said with an excited smile “So… cozy.” she said as she giggled

“Look at all these guitars!” Jason said excitedly as he examined them all “Fender, Gibson…” he continued, until his eyes landed on a Foster guitar, his eyes sparkled “May I?” he glanced at me, I nodded and he picked the guitar out, sat on a stool and started strumming a few chords. I looked at him and smiled

“You play?” I said and he chuckled as he shrugged

“I dabble.” he said, looking at me pointedly “My cousin taught me a few chords.” he said as he shrugged, he stroked the guitar with a smile; it was endearing. And then set it back in it’s place “This is amazing, Ava.” he said, looking around; I chuckled once I saw Chase looking at my records again

“You really love snooping in my collection, don’t you?” I said as I made my way over to him, he only chuckled

“I wouldn’t call it snooping, more like…” he dabbed his chin and frowned as he thought “admiring.” he said as he chuckled, I rolled my eyes playfully

“Pish, posh.” I said as I waved him off, Ashley walked over and pulled out a random CD, popping it into my record player and grabbed my hand, (surprisingly it was slightly upbeat), and pulled me to the center of the room and started dancing; Chase and Jase looked at us with smiles on their faces, I giggled as I grabbed Chase’s hand, Ashley did the same with Jase and started dancing randomly with them. I must say I was surprised, these jocks knew how to dance! But it didn’t matter if they did, or not, I was having a blast! Dancing around with my best friends, in my music room; and I couldn't be happier.
