Aurora's POV
*ALARM NOISE*
I was awoke by the sound of my electric alarm early in the morning. I have to get prepared for the pageant tomorrow.
I opened my eyes and removed my sleeping mask as I see the beautiful crystal chandelier on the ceiling of my lovely room. I grabbed a glass of water by my side table and took a sip.
The first thing I do in the morning is to drink a glass of water to hydrate myself.
The second thing is to check my phone for some notifications or emails. I immediately took a photo of myself and posted it on my Instagram story with a caption, 'woke up like this'. I have over a hundred thousand followers on Instagram.
I removed the comfortable fancy duvet from my legs and sat on the edge of my bed, looking at the things that motivates me to get me going throughout the day.
"Alexa, play Doja Cat playlist."
One of the things that motivate me is playing music in my room in the morning to make me feel calm. And my music taste? Well, it depends on my mood. And today is giving me a Doja Cat vibes.
Doja Cat playlist surrounds my room as I took a deep breath and let go. I stood up and walked to my whole body mirror to take a glance at myself. I have this naturally-straight dirty blonde hair that I got from my mom. And my eyes from my dad, big emerald green. I have a cute little mole on my nose. My lips are pinkish, soft, and plump. I looked myself at the mirror and practiced my expressions for the upcoming pageant tomorrow. I raised my pajama-shirt up to see my waist and my lovely curves to see if it's still in-shape. I have a pretty pale skin that is slightly tanned. I gave myself a deep stare and said, "Hey there, gorgeous.", using a British accent and chuckled.
I went to the bathroom to do my morning ritual.
For today's morning routine, I took a shower which gave me time to think of what I should do for today. I need to pick up the gown that is custom-made from Versace that I'll be using for the pageant tomorrow. I designed it myself. I know how to sew, but I wanted something that is branded. maybe someday I'll start my own brand. Then, I need to meet my pageant instructor to practice my walk for the show.
When I was younger, I took lessons about ballroom dancing, singing, playing different instruments, and took different language classes.
My parents are hella rich. We have a trading company. But I never considered it as mine. I was only 9 years old when my dad began to train me on how to handle our business. 'Cause I'm the heiress. You know what I'm saying?
I was trained at an early age on being an independent woman. So I never get to enjoy my childhood. I am homeschooled and never got many friends at all. I'm already 17 years old, I'm 5'8 tall, currently single, and I believe in the saying that what I want, is what I get. Period.
I stepped out of the shower, dried myself, wore my Gucci robe, and continued with my routine.
Next thing I do is to motivate myself in front of the mirror and brush my teeth. After that, I did my skin care routine, step by step.
I wore my contact lenses. I don't have a clear eyesight and I don't want to wear eyeglasses because they leave weird marks on my nose.
I made my way downstairs to eat breakfast with my family.
"Good morning honey!" my dad greeted me with an excited smile on his face.
"Hi dad! Hi mom! Good morning!" I gave them both a peck on their foreheads before I seating on my chair.
"Hi sunshine!" my mom said with a big smile. "You look stunning as always." mom complimented me as I put the napkin on my lap before I start eating.
I chuckled."I know." I replied a joke as a response and both of them are laughed in their seats.
"So Aurora, what are your plans for today?" my dad asked as he was reading his newspaper. I took a bite of my breakfast: spicy omelette with cashews and caviar on top.
I placed my fork down and wiped my mouth with the napkin before answering the question. "Uhm.. There' are some things I need to get done for the pageant tomorrow." I said while taking a sip from a glass of freshly-squeezed orange juice.
"So how are you feeling? Are you nervous? Are you excited? C'mon, spill the tea!" my mom jokingly said while trying hard to be a 'millennial' type of mom.
"Okay. First of all, stop trying to be
millennial, mom. It doesn't work. And second--"
"Come on, you're no fun." my mom interrupted me while giving me an annoyed face. I ignored her words and continued.
"Let me finish. Yes I'm both nervous and excited and maybe frustrated. whatever! mixed emotions, maybe." I frustratingly replied. I always get tense the day before every contests I've joined. Because I feel like all of the pressure is on me
"Why should you? Don't act like this is the first contest you ever joined." my dad gave me a straight honest response.
And he's right.
This like my 100th contest. Maybe? I don't know. I've already joined many different contests. and I'm proud of it. I even have a room full of trophies and medals I have received.
"You're going to be just fine, honey. You'll do great. Good luck!" my mom wished me good luck with a genuine smile while she rubs my hand across the table.
"Yeah! Go kick some a--" I interrupted dad's sentence before he even say it.
"Okay, dad. Thank you and I love you both. I promise I'll do great." I felt relieved after that.
"That's our girl!"
I'm so happy to have them. I'm so lucky. Having them in my life gave me pure happiness.
I stood up from my chair to return to my room before stopping as my dad called my name.
"And Aurora."
It's like he is going to say something important.
"Mhm?"
"Start packing your things." I was shocked and confused at the same time.
Why?
