after glares of the crimson sunset seeped through the curtains in billie's old room, a sudden flashing from her phone caught my attention. my eyes quickly drifted to an awaiting message from her family group chat that instantly sent shivers down my spine.

memories of earlier this year plagued my thoughts but soon dissipated when a pair of arms and legs wrapped around my body, dragging me into their chest. billie wasted no time to snuggle into me. as she moved nestling deeper into the crook of my neck, the feeling of her lips grazing against my neck sent a chill through me and a tender smile to my lips. with no other choice, i laid back relaxing into her strong vanilla scent.

eventually, a stiffness surged through my back yearning for relief. "come on baby, you've gotta let me go," i pleaded whilst turning to kiss her temple.

seemingly unappeased with my request, her grip only tightened as she shifted burying her head into my chest. with her lying on my front and the cutest pout lingering on her lips, i instantly melted under her gaze. though i'd never admit how soft billie could make me, i can't refuse the sudden clinginess rising between us.

i leaned up smiling into the kiss as my hands stray from billie's sides towards her ass. as the intensity grew between us, i swiftly flipped us trapping her body beneath mine.

"i guess someone's eager," she teased, her arms wrapping around my waist pulling me closer.

but the sudden echo of ringing and vibrating from billie's phone left me dreadfully pulling away from our growing tension.

"ok wait, i don't need your family coming in here on my ass for you not answering your phone," i asserted while leaning over the edge of the bed. "fuck, it's your dad again... just answer it quickly, then we can go back to kissing, ok."

"i know, i've been ignoring them all morning y/n/n. way to ruin the moment," billie jokily sighed pushing to sit up.

her smile as she moved to the edge of the bed sent butterflies erupting throughout my chest. the beams of sunlight peeking through the window highlighted her freckles and nose leaving me in a dazed stare consuming her beauty.

as billie grabbed her phone from the floor, i gently slid behind pulling her flush against me. inhaling her intoxicating scent, i left soft kisses along her exposed shoulder and neck. but before i could finish, she turned towards me; the previous smile erased from her features.

i slowly raised my hands to caress her cheek, questioning, "baby, what's wrong?"

"nothing, it's just um-," billie stuttered out before pausing, a sad smile beginning to spread across lips. "you're not gonna like this but," she paused again letting a loud sigh slip past her lips. "my dad wants me to watch the fireworks with them," she rushed out absent-mindedly playing with the drawstrings of her sleep shorts.

billie's words continuously replayed in my head, the realization of them truly beginning to dawn on me. it should've been obvious that they weren't going to invite me; because by their definition and i quote, 'you're just the hooligan that defiled our precious daughter'.

i wouldn't be surprised if billie's family prefer i wasn't here at all. the last reunion, unfortunately, didn't go as planned. everything was cut short by an irate patrick who refused to let me stay in the same house as billie. and the fact that finneas caught us fucking in their garage didn't help my case and wasn't the best introduction on my part.

the sudden feeling of billie's hands resting against my cheeks jerked me from my thoughts. "we should go. maybe this can be like a redo introduction for you," billie hesitantly suggested lifting my chin so our eyes could meet.
