I woke up on the floor, light instantly shinning in through my thin, raggedy curtains

I slowly got up off the floor, my knees going weak as I did so, my body crashing back onto the floor

I waited a few more minutes before trying to get up again, walking over to the mirror

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, looking at the marks his hands left on my neck. I should be use to all of this by now, but I'm not. Look what he's doing to me, and I can't even fight back

'Maybe one day someone will be there to fight for you' my inner voice said

As if. He'll only hurt anyone I get close to. That's the main reason I only have one best friend

I watched in the mirror as a tear rolled down my cheek. What's wrong with me

I don't know how much longer my body can endure this. I took a breath, instantly coughing uncontrollably

Even my head feels light

I glance at the clock hanging on my beige wall, the time signalling that it's after ten. Better late than never

I got myself ready, dragging on a hooded sweater with a pair of dark jeans. I opened up my drawer taking out a small container holding concealer that I got when my mother was still around, dabbing it around the marks on my neck, trying my best to cover them up.

I turned my neck back and forth looking for any spots that I may have missed. It wasn't perfect but it was good enough. I headed out, reaching school a few minutes after lunch started

Some people consider school as hell, but I on the other hand, consider it an escape from all the abuse and negativity

I walked through the halls, heading into the direction of the canteen. While walking I spotted some familiar blue eyes. My mood shooting up a bit, a slight smile on my lips

I don't know if i'm the one that he saw but a smile spread across his face. I raised my hand to give a slight wave when someone rushed by, bumping into me causing me to crash into a nearby locker

I watched as the girl ran up to him, throwing her arms around him and placing a kiss against his lips

"Hey babe. I missed you while you were gone," he rested his hands on her hips. Her blonde hair swaying back and forth before resting at her lower back. She wore a mini skirt which was showing way too much along with a crop top, showing off her curves. Her pale skin looking even paler under the lights

"I still can't believe I got suspended," she pouted

"You did cause a fire in the chem lab," he chuckled

"That was an accident. I told you that I got distracted by a text from you,"

She shouldn't even be using her phone during school hours, much less in the chem lab

"I  believe you, no need to tell me again,"

"This is why I love you," she reached up, placing another kiss on his lips

Of course he'd have a perfect girlfriend. I mean look at him

'Look at you. You talked to him like five times and just because he showed you a little bit of kindness you're ready to be all over him' my inner voice said

It's not that i'm all over him. It's just it's been so long since anyone has shown the slightest bit of interest in me, especially at this school. Even though he's a self-centered jerk he still has his moments.
