track #34: Like You'll Never See Me Again — Alicia Keys

"If they got us On the Run, we could still chase our dreams. Be with someone who will take care of you. Not materialistically, but takes care of your soul, your well being, your heart and everything that's you."

AMERICA WAS sticking by the motto that every day wasn't promised. Tomorrow wasn't promised. Anything could happen at any given moment and that was what she feared the most. They were rolling dice and flipping cards— gambling away their lives. It was almost as if they had no control over their own fate. She hated thinking that the smallest change Kiandra had in her heart could result in all of this coming to an abrupt end.

There would be no more waking up to Ace laying beside her in the morning, or him clutching tightly onto her at night to put a stop to her shivering, or worse, there would be no more of his sarcastic and smart remarks that'd slip from his mouth during the day when she least expected them.Them, together, and at their fullest form, laughing from the genuine happiness that they felt whenever they were around each other would eventually cease to exist.

The story of them would be fictionalized and put to rest before they knew it.

This was all a part of the game they were playing and the unnerving wait that came with it. For every day Kiandra granted them America spent those valuable and fragile moments feeding Ace all of the love that was left in her and he ate all of that love up and returned it times a million. There was no choice left but to cherish the time they had left with each other. The clock was still ticking and the days were changing.
