Just because of that mistake that he didn't want to happen again, it ruined his life and his family. Zayn knew he's not the only one responsible in this. Harry had made his life miserable. It worked so well.

He did explain to them what happened, he tried to convince them of the truth, but no one had ever believed him. Except for his mother. She loved him, she believed in him, but she's gone now. He wiped the tears streaming down on his face.

"Zayn, son." He turned around to see his father, wheeling towards where he is.

"You okay?" He asked, his hand reached for him. Zayn sat down on the sand and tried his best to smile.

"You know what, the first time I laid my eyes on you, I already knew that you'll give me so much trouble." Said Simon, slightly chuckling. Zayn smiled a bit, looking at the ocean.

"But of course, your mom's so happy when she first saw you, and I can't take that happiness away. Mothers' instincts are the best." He added.

"I'm sorry, dad. I didn't make it to apologize after what happened. I really regretted it now-"

"It's okay, Zayn. You can't regret what happened, I have already forgiven you." Simon smiled, but Zayn frowned. Knowing that it was the biggest joke that happened to their family.

"But still, dad. It was the biggest mistake, God knows how I loathed him so much-"

"Stop it now, Zayn. I don't want you two to fight again. It's enough, okay? I don't want another feud before I die. Give me peace, can you do that?" His father holds his hand that was tensing, and later, he was calm.

"I'm not yet ready to lose you, Dad. Please don't say it." Zayn's voice broke.

"I will see your mother again." His father smile was something Zayn sees whenever Simon is with their mom. That is the reason why Zayn didn't argue anymore.

"Dad, I'm sorry. Can't stay. I need to go." Harry came running towards them. His eyes seemed alarmed and worried. Zayn frowned.

"It's okay. I understand, Harry. Just tell him I asked for him. Take the gift I have for him." Said Simon, Zayn frowned, even more, his eyebrows might have reached the top of his forehead. Then he rolled his eyes, shaking his head. He thought this was a family gathering and Harry is skipping it to see someone, not in the family.

Harry kissed his father's cheek before running back on the cottage to leave. Zayn wheeled Simon back so he could get rest.

"Where's Louis?" asked Niall when they came back.

"He gave Harry a drive. He'll be back soon." He answered, sipping on his lemonade.

"What's with Harry? He's skipping family hours every time. I thought he's on vacation leave?" Zayn asked, not that he care so much. It's just Harry is being immature to leave whenever he wants.

"He has important matters to solve, Zayn."

"More important than this? Dad's sick."

"Well, you can't understand it for now."

"You know what, nevermind. I don't care. Let him be." Zayn told him and got back to his hotel room.

"Hey, Zayn! Where are you going?" Nico called out on Zayn, seeing him going inside the hotel. "Going to escape again?" he asked.

"Whose innocence you're going to take advantage of?" Warren chimed in, chuckling with his not-so-charming cousin Nico.

Zayn stopped his track and breathed heavily. He calmed himself before facing the two rascals on the cottage. "Your girlfriends'," Zayn answered back, grinning widely. He already sees Nico and Warren's eyes flaming with anger.
