"I love you," Klaus panted in Layla's ear.

She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him in closer, "I love too."

Klaus smiled, "We are bound together forever."

Layla cupped his face in her hands, "I'm okay with that.

"I'm selfish," Klaus mumbled.

"You're not selfish, for loving me," Layla smiled.

Klaus shook his head, "Yes I am, I have experienced losing you to many times to count, I have watched you die."

Layla smiled, "Maybe it will be different this time."

Layla was wrong, Klaus was right. Two days later, she was shot at a bar, killing her instantly, right in front of Klaus' eyes.

Layla walked into the Salvatore house. Elena was missing and the body of Elijah was also. Meaning only one thing, Elena undaggered him. Layla was happy, she liked Elijah, he was nobel, always keeping his word.

"Hey!" Andie, Damon's girlfriend greeted Layla.

"Stefan is on the phone with Elena," Damon told her.

Layla sighed before sitting on the couch, this was typical Elena. The Salvatores tried so desperately to try to protect her, here she was willingly to mess it all up. If Layla would have people willingly to sacrifice themselves, she would never try to mess it up.

"Did she just hang up on you?" Layla asked Stefan.

"She did," Stefan mumbled.

"She's lost it," Damon said.

"If anyone can get him to help us kill Klaus, it's her," Stefan said.

"Bonnie's the way to kill Klaus, Stefan. He thinks she's dead. We have a chance with her," Damon shrugged.

"She'll kill herself in the process!" Layla yelled.

"Her way's going to get her killed. So we need to find her and stop her," Damon told Layla.

Damon got up heading for the door, "Wanna come Layla?"

"No, you need to back off," Stefan said holding Damon back.

"What?" Damon asked.

"Look, I don't like this any more than you do. But we need to trust her. We gotta just let her do her thing," Stefan urged.

"That might be your plan. Mine's better," Damon shrugged, "Now come on Layla."

Layla followed Damon to his car, Layla got into the passenger side, "Damon where are we going?"

"To pay Katherine a visit."

Damon opened the to Alaric's apartment.

"What if that creep is inside here?" Layla groaned.

"He's not," Damon said. He opened the door and and stuck his head in to look around.

"Katherine the girl I just wanted to see," Damon smirked.

Layla, hated Katherine she only cared about herself, and killed Caroline, not to mention she almost killed
Layla too.

"Thank God," Katherine said when she saw the duo.

"Yep," Damon smirked.

"Thought you might be dead," Layla said hopefully.

"Unfortunately not," Katherine sighed, "What are you doing here?"

"We are here to see if she deserves to be rescued," Damon said.

"Right," Layla sighed.

"I figured you still might be kicking. Alaric-Klaus was blending way too easily. Figured he probably had some coaching," Damon smirked, showing her a bottle.

"Is that...?" Katherine began.

"Vervain? Your salvation," Layla told her.

"It's not going to undo anything," Katherine told them.

"There's always a loophole. Did he tell you to stay in this apartment until he said it was ok to leave?" Damon asked.

Katherine's mouth stayed closed, she was silent at the dead of night.

"You can't say. Did he tell you to do absolutely everything he says until the end of time?" Damon said.

"No," Katherine told him.

"There's your loophole. Drink this and it'll prevent any further compulsion," Damon smirked.

She came closer to take the vial to take it from Damon but he pulled it back, not allowing her to have it.

"Give it to me," Katherine growled.

"Answer one question first. You double-crossed us with Isobel, why?" Layla asked her.

"I didn't think you could stand a chance against Klaus, so I was looking out for myself," Katherine said.

"And where did that get you? Here," Damon smiled, throwing her vial, "Be careful with that. If he finds out you have that, you're never getting out of here."

Katherine drank the substance, choking it down.

"You owe me. And I will collect," Damon told her, "Let's get a drink Layla."

Layla sat at the Grill alone, Damon had to go back to cater to Elena's needs. The curse was fake, it was a cure to actually break Klaus' hybrid curse. He was half vampire half werewolf. If this cure was to be broken he could create hybrids freely.

Klaus sat in the back of the grill, in his normal form now, he watched Layla admiring her beauty. He missed he so much, he wanted to hold her in his arms, never letting her go. He allowed every memory, every death of her come flooding back to him.
