Armin sighed. "Not really, no."

"Well you see, because your dog is quite large and it has now tasted human blood and flesh... It may develope a taste for it and may harm you, your family and others. Its now a danger and threat to society and especially after the amount of damage it caused to that man and how vicious it was being yesterday, we can't really risk bringing it back into your family."

"My dog would never do something like that." Armin growled. "And she was trying to protect us." I was glad he was at least trying to keep calm.

"Unfortunately I don't think there is much we can do." The second officer sighed. "Your dog is most probably going to have to be put down."

"I won't fucking let you." Armin glared at him. I gave him a warning look and glanced at the children who were still closing their eyes and covering their ears. It was so weird, usually he was so quiet and happy but today its like he was a whole different person, and I did not like it at all.

"We are the police, you can't stop us." This second officer was really trying to piss Armin off, and it was working.

"You can't hurt my dog for protecting my family." Armin stood up again, leaning over the table.

"But sir, it could turn on you-" The first policeman tried to explain

"Listen. Give me my dog back or I swear to God I will get it back by force. How dare you feel pity on the dickhead that tried to kill my children and then try to hurt my family more by killing our fucking dog. Do you know how low that is!?" Armin yelled.

"Armin stop." I gave him a warning look. "Is there anyway we could just have our dog back? To trial and see if it harms us?" I asked the policemen.

"I dont-" The first one tried to say.

"You can have your dog for a week. We are picking it up next Friday and putting it down okay? End of discussion." The second cop butted in and crossed his arms.

Armin was about to lose it. "Yeah okay whatever thanks." I grabbed Armin and dragged him out with the kids.

"Eren you can't let them do this!!" Armin yelled.

"Shh!!" I tried to shush him.

"Is this not sinking into your brain!? They're going to kill Luka and youre not even the slightest bit mad or sad!?" Armin glared at me with both anger and sadness in his eyes.

"Armin you need to calm down."

"No Eren. I don't need to calm down, you need to re-evaluate the situation. Do you even have a heart in there!?" He poked my chest.

"Armin-"

"This is ridiculous, I can't believe-"

"SHUTUP!!" I boomed, making the Armin flinch and Levi and Petra whimper. "Armin you need to calm the fuck down right now."I growled. I sighed in frustration and told them to wait, while I walked off to get Luka.

"We are coming to pick her back up on Friday and if she has hurt you, we are not responsible." The officer said, handing me a large box. It was so sad the way they just shoved her in a box.

"Yeah okay." I mumbled, grabbing the box and walking past him. I walked past Armin and the kids too and went straight to the car. I placed the box in the boot and helped the kids get in the car. The drive home was silent.

Once we got home I told the kids to go to our bedroom and watch some TV while Armin and I sorted some things out, they didn't argue. I took the box out and walked inside, taking Luka out. She seemed a bit quiet and shaken. I gave her some food which she ignored and curled up in the corner.

I walked into the kitchen, expecting to see Armin there but he wasn't. I had a look in the lounge room and saw him sitting on the couch, with his head buried in his hands.

"Look..." I sighed.

Armin mumbled something that I couldn't hear.

"What did you say?" I asked.

"Call 911." I heard him whisper.

My heart pounded loudly in my chest. "Why-"

Suddenly Armin spluttered out blood all over the floor and clutched his stomach. I gasped and quickly grabbed the phone and sat by his side, while he continued throwing up blood. I tried to reassure him that everything was going to be fine but he probably couldn't hear me over the sound of blood spluttering everywhere and his cries of agony that filled the empty house.

Levi and Petra ran downstairs and began crying over the sight they saw. The ambulance kicked down the door and quickly put Armin on a stretcher, zooming him out the door and into their truck. I took the kids hands, trying to calm them down and sat in the truck. I was very uneasy, this scene was very familiar and it made me want to be sick and pass out myself, but I had to be strong.
