Sebastians POV
-
We seldom saw any other cars. It may have been due to the fact that it was 3am on a Tuesday.
We were heading north to my uncle's, the only living relative we had left. He lived in a more secluded part of the country.
We had been forced to love in the middle of second school semester due to some rather unfortunate events. I was going to continue my second last year of school before uni.
Thankfully I wouldn't be alone. My brother had luckily found a small but actually renowned university close by.
However my thought weren't focused on my school but on the excruciating.y long ride. We had been in the car for more than 8 painful hours. The car was freezing due to the Broken heater. Not only that but It was pitch black outside apart from our car lights. My mood fit perfectly with our surroundings.
Before the accident, my brother and I used to have a very simple and distant relationship. But due to certain traumatising events, our bond grew, bringing us closer than we ever were. He was my ally and my friend. The last person I could trust.
However my brother wasn't able to separate me from them. From my memories, plaguing my thoughts. The ones that made you wallow in distress and guilt.
Ever since that fateful night, they had attached themselves onto me like a second skin. They had rendered my senses dull.
The only thing I cared about anymore was my older brother. The rest was insignificant. I no longer cared about what others thought of me. I didn't care about any of the superfluous things now.
Suddenly, the car lurched to a stop, snatching me from my thoughts,
I forced myself to look up, staring into the emerald eyes of my brother Nathan.
I shook my head. I didn't want to leave the confines of the car.
He sighed, knowing that I evaded social interaction to the best of my abilities. He quickly left the car muttering about how stiff his legs were and entered the gas station.
No less than two minutes later, he came out swiftly with two water bottles and a pack of M&Ms, my favourite, clutched in his tight fists.
We ate in comfortable silence. When the packet was empty, Nate thrust the car key into our old blue BMW making the engine roar to life. We left, as quickly as we arrived without looking back.
-
Two hours after leaving the gas station we no longer were on the highway having changed to smaller, winding roads. The roads seemed decrepit, void.
After half an hour we arrived to our uncles town. Shortly after we were heading to our uncles address.
His house was a sight to behold.
The house was surrounded by a high fence, situated near the entrance of a forest. It resembled a mansion however sinister the facade was. We didn't have any existing or new neighbours which always came as a relief due to our rather dangerous nature.
All the shutters were down. Due to our early arrival we decided to wait in case my uncle hadn't woken up yet. My brother hopped in the car, reached for his phone and started texting his friends.
I on the other hand had other plans. My wolf had been caged for far too long and it was yearning for release.
I headed toward the forest taking in its appearance. The forest was old and the trees were all gnarled. Many were dead, suffering from lack of light. Roots cut the ground zigzagging all over the place. Trees dotted the land as far as I could see.
