She longs to be an adult each time she is been told don't and she can't
She longs to be an adult each time she faces the chores of the day
She longs to be an adult after suffering the belt of errands
She longs to be an adult at the end of every day when her young head touches the bed
She longs to be an adult after every verbal lashing
She longs to be an adult while taking every stroke from the cane
Now here she is, having fully blossomed into adulthood
going through mental stress
Paying bills upon bills
Facing life challenges
Finding it hard to rest at night, she yearns to be a child.
