Sammy's Pov:

My phone started buzzing like crazy, after a few calls I finally decided to answer it walking out of the room

"Sam..", my mom says in a low voice

"Mom.. Is everything okay?"

"No... It's your friend Nate, he's been shot and is in critical condition in the hospital right now", my mind going completely blank.

"No. Stop you can't be serious?", I fall to the ground in utter shock

"I'm sorry honey", my mom says her voice cracking

"Are we talking about the same person here mom please don't be fucking around with me like this.."

"Just come home as soon as possible baby", I sit there sobbing like a complete idiot. Why? Out of everyone why Skate?!

"I-i-ill be there tomorrow", I say and hang up smashing my fists into the floor

"Sam.. Is everything okay?", Abby runs up to me

"It's..", I say finding it hard to speak through the tears

"Sam.. Speak to me", she says with worry in her eyes

"Nate... H-h-he's been shot", I turn to Abby and her eyes widen with shock but her face turns to sadness instantly

"Babe, I'm so sorry..", she hugs me causing me to break down

"How the fuck can this happen?! I was just with him last night, we settled things and now he's in the hospital in critical condition and its all my fault because I didn't go with him", I sob into her arms

"Go with him where Sam?"

"He told me he wanted me to go do a deal with him today but I couldn't because I came to surprise you, he then got mad and came clean about all that shit with Johnson and Gilinsky and the whole set up.."

"What.. What fucking set up?!", she says almost yelling

"I don't know, they had this whole plan to fuck our relationship up so you can go running into fuckboy Johnson's arms", i yell

She said nothing but stared at me, tears now in her eyes. She covered her mouth in complete shock.

"So I was basically used?..", she cries

"I think so baby but that doesn't matter, I have you back now. That's what matters", I pull her into my arms

"I'm leaving tomorrow to go see Nate at the hospital"

"Be careful okay?", she looks up at me

"Always am", I kiss her cheek and we walk back to the room and fall asleep

I land back in Omaha and instantly hopped into a cab and went to go see Skate. I walked into the hospital and were greeted by his parents in tears.

"He doesn't want to see anyone but you", his mom hugs me

"What room is he in?", I ask trying to stay calm

"Room 113 just around the corner", she gestures and I quickly make my way in there.

I couldn't help but stand frozen, there in bed was Skate laying back. Machines and stuff all over him, I couldn't help but let out a few tears

"You crying man?", he laughs

"Fuck yeah, I don't like seeing you with all these things all over you", I say taking a chair and pulling it up beside him
