....13 years later....

Beep..Beep...Beep

"I'M UP. I'M UP, YOU STUIPD ALARM CLOCK," I yell out as I turn over to turn it off. I sit up in my warm bed, looking around my room. Sunlight sweeps through my black curtains. 'I really need to get darker curtains' I think before getting out if bed. I walk over to my closet, pulling out an outfit. Then heading to the shower.

 Then heading to the shower

Today was Tuesday, my school field trip to the museum of arts. I can not be late. After a quick shower, I throw on my clothes, then run a brush through my long straight black hair, my purple tips will curl up later anyways.

I don't usually wear makeup, so I just out on some eyeliner and chapstick, then I went downstairs.

"Bye, Mrs. Sherri, Mr. Scotty," I tell my adopted parents on my way out the door. Grabbing my backpack and phone.

"Goodbye, Dear. Please stay out of trouble," Mrs. Sherri says.

"Can't promise you that," I reply, winking at her, as the door shuts.

.....TIME SKIP.....

"Earth. EARTH, WAIT UP." I recognize that voice from anywhere. I stop walking, letting my best friend Grover catch up. He makes his way toward me. "Why the hell are you walking so fast?"

"I don't know. I just can't wait to get to the museum." I step off to the side, continuing my trek.

"You know, I almost forgot something," Grover says. Suddenly he stops, causing me to look back at him. He holds something wrapped in brown paper. "Here. Happy Birthday, Earth! You're thirteen now."

"Grover, you didn't have to get me anything.."

"But i did. Take it."

"Fine, thank you." I grab the small object from him, and wrap my arms around his waist, giving him a bear hug.

"Earth...I can't...Breathe" Grover whispers against my jean jacket. I quickly let go.

"Right, sorry."

"Well, open it," he says, pointing at the package. I lift it up then peel the brown paper back. Inside was a ring and a necklace. The ring had a black crystal surrounded by a sliver band. While the necklace was a deep purple with a black symbol on it.

"They are beautiful. Thank you so much, Grov. I love them."

"No problem. Use them in time of need," Grover then looks up and starts walking again. "Now lets get to that field trip."

"Okay."
