Blood Bound

Chapter 1

Loading our things out and taking it into the bungalow. "wow this place is breathtaking". Our rooms are underwater not literally but it's an underwater view. Heading up to the upstairs balcony I hear "Haha now you're talking there is a slide that lets you splash into the water below, RAY! RACE YOU!".Eredan shouts to Ray. "Yeah right old man I'm already in the water!". Ray splashes into the water while Eredan takes the slide down into the crisp cold water. "I hope you guys know about the shark not so far away right?". While trying to hide a smile Skyler chuckles with me as the guys panic about the supposed 'shark' in the water.

"Alright, guys I'm going to head to the local market to see what they have". I say heading toward the door. The moment I open the door a sea breeze welcomes me like an old friend, the draft of wind flows through me as I visibly relax. The locals are even more soothing and the music among the stalls makes it more cheerful.

My eyes clasp a beautiful Nodatchi sword glistening in the sun. I hear a faint voice calling my name "Violet". Approaching the stall with caution I examine the blade and it's craftsmanship also giving it a swing or two, clearly giving the stall vendor a fright.
I really shouldn't buy this sword but a girl can't resist a beautiful weapon now can she?. Buying the gigantic sword I decide to head toward a clothes stall with bright colored bathing suits. I pick up a beautiful slick black suit with white embroidered flowers along the neck V-line that goes down until about to the middle. Ray is your typical weaponry lover so I buy him a reasonably sharp dagger that reflects a black so deep that the abyss looks shallow.
Eredan is a cooking enthusiast so I'm getting him fresh fruit and vegetables to cook with. I have to say these Hawaiians have some seriously good tastes in food.

Deep in thought, as I walk back to the bungalow a deranged sick man knocks me off my feet as he crashes into me. Screaming like a mad man "IT'S THE END, THE DEMONS ARE COMING BEWARE, IT'S THE END!". Some strong locals carry him away as I gape toward him. An elderly Lady helps me to my feet while speaking in a heavy Hawaiian and accent, "e kala mai ia'u". Looking at me she realizes I'm not from here and almost immediately she softens her expression "I'm sorry my Keiki, he the local drunk he always say thing like this". Smiling and thanking her we end up chatting about her and how she came to Puuwai, an interesting story really but what had me hanging off of her lips was the culture of the Hawaiians and how they see the Fallen angels and demi-gods. A very interesting lady I must add she's one of those old ladies you can talk to for hours and never get tired of their stories. Sadly it was getting dark and I had to get back to the others. Saying my goodbyes to the lady I know now as Nana. "Goodnight Nana a pleasure to meet you ".

Strolling along the path to the bungalow I notice that a dozen fireflies join me on my stroll. It's like the stars came down to join me. Bewitched by the beautiful bugs and the feeling I get with the waves lapping behind me and the beauty of nature. Entering the bungalow I find everyone sitting with worried expressions. Unaware of what is going on "uh guys whats going on?".
My heart sinks below my feet as I realize Skyler isn't in the room with us, words not even cold they motion to Skyler's room where I can hear soft sobbing. "She won't come out or let us in not to mention talk either".

Finding the courage in me to knock on the door and find out what the hell is going on. Softly knocking " Skyler it's me, Violet what's going on?"
To my luck, the door makes a 'click' and opens. Skyler's red cried eyes peek from behind. "come in quick". Startled by her tone of voice I hastily enter the now trashed space. I also observe blood splatter on the floor. "Skyler are you alright!?".

Not a word spoke the blanket that was covering her back fell to the floor and revealed two beautiful white wings attached to her. "Violet I'm freaking out my birthday is tomorrow and I'm turning twenty-one alongside Eredan and he has been complaining about the same pain in his shoulder blades as I did before this". Now that I think of it all four of us have been complaining about shoulder blade pains, we thought it was just stress but this is something much bigger.

"Skyler I'm afraid you're right, I've been experiencing the same pain and two nubs have appeared, we all are growing wings, we have to warn the guys".
Making my way out of the room and Skyler in tow we reveal Skyler's wings and my soon to be wings. "Are you kidding me is this a joke?". None of us makes a move to laugh or smile. The seriousness of the situation sets on our shoulders like snow on a mountain. Eredan and Ray tug off their shirts simultaneously to see if we're bluffing but to their surprise, they find exact same nubs like mine although Eredan's is more progressed than Ray and I's.

Everyone brainstorming trying to figure out what is happening to us and why then it hit me like a train. "NANA we need to call Nana and ask her what's going on she knows almost everything of the Fallen and Nephilim".
Eredan protesting against it as usual but gaze falling on Skyler's features he softens and agrees.

Dialing Nana's phone with my heart in my chest, "Hello, is Nana ther- of course, she knows me! Kai give the damn phone to Nana please it's urgent!". Tapping my foot impatiently on the wooden floor as the drunkard shouts for mamma Nana. A few short moments later. "yes my child? What can I do for you?". I fill her in with what's happening and that we stay in bungalow number six. "Alright child I'll be there in a few moments".
Placing the phone on its docking station and turning to the others who are waiting intensely for me to speak. "Mamma Nana is on her way and we will have answers soon".

A few breaths later we hear knocking at the door. Must be Nana. "that was quick". Opening the door I see Nana accompanied by two huge Hawaiian men, ah shit this is how I die right?.
To my surprise, she tells the men to wait outside and not let anyone near or in the bungalow.
"Keiki, why do you think I trusted you so easily? come, children, you wanted the truth and I shall reveal the truth to you as it is".

Huddling around Nana like little children. "You are all wondering how I know these fallen angels and demons business? The truth is children I was united in marriage with a fallen angel we had a child, a son and he turned out just like you but when they discovered his true nature they burned him alive here on the isle 'sending him back from whence he came' his father the love of my life, we grew dark and apart, he left me here on the isle and I hate him for it but we both did what we thought would be best for Zikiel. I'm warning you, kids, go back home before it's too late you will find all the answers you seek there, I will always look out for my familia"

With the moment passing she hands us an all paid private jet back to New York, obviously hugging Nana with tears in my eyes. "Thank you, Nana, when all this is over I'll come to visit ". Nana's husband was the brother of my fathers apparently.
Like that we all pack our things with lightning speed, Skyler's wings are still sore so Nana massaged a local remedy on to numb the pain she also gave us each a bottle of it since we will all grow wings sooner or later.

Heart heavy with questions as I board the aircraft with the last glance to Nana waving goodbye and a tear caressing my cheek. Little were we aware of what was happening in New York City...
