Here Lies the Fallen

Flooded with deleterious thoughts and emotions,
Amped with fear, it sets things to apparent motions;
Possibilities of chaos starts to align,
Exaggerating things although it's benign.

Fear distort the mind into anticipation;
The prospect of the worst invites agitation;
Thoughts were disrupted, conception was affected,
Addled, befuddled, bewildered, disoriented.

So worried and tired, caught in the end of my wit;
Desperately trying to take the driver's seat,
Determined to take control and make my mind straight,
Withstanding, enduring, not willing to abdicate.

Yet sometimes we are not strong as we claim to be;
Sometimes we're weak, feeble, helpless, and 'all at sea';
This life will throw everthing in its armory,
There's no way it would wait until we are ready.

Doesn't matter if we are already beaten,
Life in reality's no 'Garden of Eden';
This is a constant battle, an endless struggle,
Everyday we're digging our grave with a shovel.

'Cause every day we lose is a day we're nearer,
To death that's gonna get us sooner or later;
Yes. This life's brutal, sometimes efforts are futile;
Yet, we are all attached to life: we're biophile.

So no matter how bruised and broken we become,
We never cease to rise again and overcome;
The fear and love for life that runs through our system,
Are all part of our survival mechanism.

Will life be worth living despite the pain it inflicts?
To watch as it performs all its conjuring tricks?
Make the problems to appear, hope to disappear,
Optimism be greater, fears to be lesser.

But what if the love for life was never enough?
How would I face the world and all its crazy stuff?
Does that justify my excuse to just give up?
Abandon, call it quits, make my own epitaph?

Like, here lies fallen, the failure, the quitter;
The one who gave up to his anxiety and fear;
The one who dug his grave so fast, didn't think twice;
Not so wise, he paid the price to 'Fool's Paradise'
