Seventeen

"Mide? Where's Wendy?" Zikora asked, standing up from where she was sitting.

"Right where I want her to be and you girls are very perfect here but I must say, you guys chose the wrong spot for this."

An hour earlier.

The sky was cloudy and it was just 4:56pm, rain was threatening to fall, and the girls and I were in hiding.

"So you guys are cousins? How come I never knew?" Ziora asked Anita, who was sitting down close to Angela. The later was seriously busy on her tab and I couldn't help but notice the eye bags under her eyes.

"Well, you never asked me anything about my family. The only thing you know about me is my dad is a senator." Anita snapped. I could understand her frustration though, the twins are not really the type to get involved in your life. They only knew things about me because of Kay Kay.

"Jeez, sorry. No need to be so mean!" Zikora said, coming to her sister's defense.

I was beginning to get really cold and my white long sleeved shirt wasn't even helping matters. I looked around the room, trying to take in my environment. It was almost like our spot but it was less girly. The best was a bit smaller, a laptop was on the table and I was guessing it was Anita's. There was a rug at the middle of the room and that was exactly where I was laying down.

"So how did you guys know what was going on? Because it feels shady." I asked, sitting up and pulling my knees to my chest.

Anita and Angela shared a look before Angela cleared her throat. "Well, I knew something was up with Kay Kay. I was with her one day and her tab suddenly beeped, her facial expression changed almost immediately and I knew something was up. I hacked into her tab and that was when I saw the messages, I tried tracing who it was from but it wasn't working." She paused and then continued.

"She later came to meet me like a week before she died and then she asked me for help. I later found out who was threatening her a day before she died but I couldn't find her anywhere. When I finally told her, she went to confront him, you know how Kay Kay is now, very strong headed and then the tragedy struck. Before that, she already made me promise to look after you guys, I don't know if she knew she was going to die but she didn't want you guys to be mixed up in her drama. So when she died, and Zara asked for a new roommate, I hacked into the school's system and put our names together. I didn't actually want a roommate then though but I felt I had to. The day you received your first text, I knew it had started again only that it was a different puppet master this time around."

Derin cut her off. "Wait! So you mean a different person was threatening Kay Kay? And how were you able to hack into the school's account? I've been trying for more than a year and it wasn't working."

Angela sighed and looked at Derin. "Yes, a different person was threatening Kay Kay and he's the same person that's trying to kill you guys, you guys are not safe. He doesn't even work alone, they are like a group of eh.." Angela paused, as of looking for the right word to use.

"Cult?" I asked, biting my lips.

"Yes, cult and they'll make sure they tie up loose ends. About the school's system, my brother kind of helped set everything up so I know my way around these things." She shrugged.

"You have a brother? Is he hot?" Ziora asked, smiling. We all rolled our eyes.

I laid down on the rug again and tried to think. The thought of William just filled my head. I couldn't stop thinking about how he was feeling at the moment, I felt bad enough that I slept with his best friend. I groaned and used my hands to rub my face.

"So what are we going to do now? We can't hide forever, we have to do something or they'll come for us next." Ziora sighed. Zikora was biting her nails close to her, it was something she did anytime she became nervous.

"Well, we have to set a trap for them and you guys are the trap." Anita said, showing her white teeth to the whole room.

"How are we going to do that?" I found myself asking.

"For starters, you guys would have to wear this." Angela showed us a set of bugs. She stood up and distributed them to each of us. I looked at my own, getting the feel of the plastic on my fingers.

"You'll have to put that in your bra, I'll activate it and get any recording I can get. One of you would text her, telling her where and when to meet you and then you'll strike a conversation with her. Make her spill everything, Zara I trust you to be able to put her in a tight spot. Anita and I would deal with him."

I nodded and put the bug in my bra, making sure it was in the right spot.

"So who wants to send the message?" I asked, looking at the girls.

"I will." Derin said, putting on her tab. We all scrambled towards her and watched as she typed.

Meet us at the basketball court by 5:20. Your time is ticking, tick tock and don't even try any funny business, bitch!

"Oooooh!" We all said, this was a side of Derin we loved to see.

We came out one by one and tried to check our environment if it was clear. The sky was still very dark, like it was sending us a message about what was about to happen. I shivered lightly and rubbed my hands together, Derin suddenly held my hands as we walked together.

The school was so quiet, everyone was obviously in their respective rooms, trying to enjoy the cool weather. I just hoped the rain wouldn't fall and ruin all our plans. Everything had to end this night, I was tired and stressed out. We got to the basketball court by 5:18, we looked around for any sign of her.

Ziora walked towards the bleachers to sit down and we all followed suit. My hands were shaking nervously and my heart kept on beating. I rubbed my hands together and blew hot air on them.

"What do you think would happen after all these is over?" Zikora asked, doing almost the same thing that I was doing. I guess I wasn't the only one that was cold.

"I don't even know what normal feels anymore, all I know is that there is a killer or there are killers on the loose and they are moving through RVHS for their next victim." Derin sighed, folding her arms on her chest.

"Angela, can you hear us?" I asked quietly into the bug.

"Yes I can, is she there yet?" She replied.

I blew hot air and looked around for any sign of the greatest bitch in the world. "Seems like she's running late."

"It's funny how she had balls using texts but suddenly became a coward when it became time for her to show her useless lying face." Ziora said with her voice shaking seriously.

"Don't mind the asshole. I just can't believe she would do that kind of thing to us, how dare she?" Derin hissed, playing with her nails.

"She was in love with Kay Kay. You know everyone knew Kay Kay was bisexual, she thought she could have her shot with Kay Kay and all but things didn't really work out well with them. They hooked up a few times oh but Kay Kay being Kay Kay, she dumped her before things could get too serious." I shrugged. That was the only time Kay Kay actually came to me for advice and I couldn't even really give it to her.

"How did you know about it? How come none of us knew about it too?" Ziora asked, raising one of her eyebrows.

"Enough of the chit chat people, I was getting really bored just listening to your annoying voices." We heard our voices and we all snapped our heads towards the direction of the voice.

"Mide? Where's Wendy?" Zikora asked, standing up from where she was sitting.

"Right where I want her to be and you girls are very perfect here but I must say, you guys chose the wrong spot for this." He said with a sinister smile on his face.

How's the quarantining going though!! Stay safe guys.

So who guessed it was Wendy that was blackmailing them? We actually have just two more chapters to go. Hang in there people, watch as everything unfolds
