                                              Maya walked through the apartment not finding her mother but wasn't surprised.
Josh took a look at the 14 year old as she put her handbag down sighing deeply.
                          "You can't let him win," Josh said and Maya smiled.
"He had won all his life. Nine years later and stupid me is still wishing Daddy wants something to do with me. How idiotic can one person be?" Maya asked. 
"You are not an idiot nor are you idiotic. Any girl wants her father involved," Josh said as Maya shook her head. 
"Not a father like mine. My mother was right. He doesn't care. He only shows up when it suits him," Maya said as tears were streaming down her cheeks. 
"Maya," Josh said as he gently cupped her cheek wiping the tears away. 
"It's okay. It's not your fault," Josh said as Maya looked him in the eye. 
"It's okay," Josh said pulling Maya close to him.
