THE LETTERS

Dear William,

Hello from Italy!

Sorry it took me so long to write to you. My mission took up more time than I expected. I wish I could tell you about it, but it's classified.

I'm alright though. Didn't get shot this time which is always a good thing.

It seems like I can never rest. I'm going back to America in a few days, but not to New York. I'm needed in Washington. Again, I can't say why.

Daniel is good company though, as he's always been. He says hello.

I miss you. I hope you're doing well.

Love, Genevieve

Dear Genevieve,

I'm glad you're okay.

I've been sent home to England. Not as exciting as Italy or Washington.

I'm with my family. I told them about you. My mother would love to meet you one day. My sisters on the other hand don't believe me. They don't think you're real. I'd love to prove them wrong.

Tell Daniel I say hello. I'm glad you're not alone.

Did you get a medal? I did. I was going to throw it away but decided against it. I'm going to send it to Blake's family. He deserved it more than I do.

I miss you darling. More than you know.

Yours, William

Dear William,

I didn't get a medal, those bastards! Maybe they've sent me a giant trophy instead and it's too heavy for the mailman to carry. But I'm sadly not home to find out.

But definitely send it to Blake's family. He deserves millions of medals. I still have the petals, I keep them pressed in my notebook. First chance I get, I'm going to a Yankee game.

I'm in Washington, alone. Daniel was sent somewhere else for another mission. I think he's somewhere in California. Lucky man.

I had to change a lot to go undercover this time. I'm blonde now, you can barely recognize me. I absolutely hate it. I can't wait for this mission to be over so I can get my old hair color back.

I'm glad you're home and safe. Tell your family I send them my love! I definitely want to meet your mother one day. I bet she's wonderful. As for your sisters, tell them I'm very real. As real as one can be. I think. Just in case they still don't believe you, I enclosed something else in this envelope.
