GABRIEL

Soon we arrived at our mansion, a big house, the kind in which most Nigerian kids dreamed of growing up. Secluded among trees on one of Garki most exclusive streets, it had turrets, gables, balconies, a screened-in front porch, a free-standing garage, a pool, formal gardents, the Nigerian dream.

We were already having dinner of chicken and salad, I have always liked us having a non citizen of Nigerian visitors.

Only a typical African child can understand.

I glanced at Jasmine again. If goddesses ate, this would absolutely be how they ate.
I was still deep inside fantasy land when I realized how Jasmine and my twin Ella had gotten along so easily.

She was laughing at the humourless joke my sister was cracking, Girls sha.
I was gazing intensely at her earth warming grin when she noticed me and her grin dwindled.

Girl am I that bad?

I'm going to talk to her personally after dinner.
Resumption is in two days, I can't keep up with her ignoring me in school. If she intends to spoil my charm in school, I would make sure she doesn't succeed.

JASMINE🌼🌼

Ella appeared to be different from what I imagined her to be like, she's too friendly and funny, at least she's herself and not trying to please me like her so called twin.

"Hey, here it is."
She heaved in with a duvet and some of her pillows since my coming was almost impromptu, and then ensconced into it as soon as she reached my bed.
I smiled, "Thanks a lot."
"You're welcome." she stood and we made the bed together.

My room was quite big, with classy light pink and grey walls, a twin bed, a desk with a blank blotter on it, sliding closets opposite the bed, and thin ash shag carpet.

"So let me gist you about the great Landmark high" She sunk in my bed with great enthusiasm.
"Okay."
"So, basically the school is owned by our dad and its like one of the best schools in this city, Its a big school with kids of the Elite families of this city." She said with total complacency.

"I guess I'm a Lucky girl then."
We both chuckled.

"So.. I'm the chapel prefect and Gabriel is the Senior prefect."
"I'm confused, So wait, you are in charge of the school chapel Like a pastor?" I said grinning.
"Huhh...." She squinted and gestured with her hands in the air.

"You see, I basically just sing everyday at the assembly, I love to sing and I find joy doing it all the time. The whole school is used to my voice and I also lead the school choir." She concluded jauntily.

'That's cool, I can't for a second imagine myself singing at the open." I said with my hands covering my face.

"Am pretty sure you have a good voice, judging from the way you speak, your accent, your tone.. It's Tiny and sweet."

"Well its gonna be tinier when I face the crowd then everyone would begin to realize what I really sound like when they start to see tears."
Then we looked at each other broke into laughter like we were being tickled.

We stopped laughing when our attention was drawn to the image at the door, It was Gabriel..

In my room? What the hell man.

"Oh Gabs did we disturb you with our chattering?"
She stood and waddled towards him.
"Not exactly." He shrugged.
"Come on Gabs...Tell her about your charms in school" Pulling him to the bed.
"We-well, I..ahh" He stuttered.
