fem! logan x keegan. ( I only made Logan a girl to match the song)

I'm running through the rainforest, whacking the thick green brush out of my way. My lungs heave for oxygen and my legs are numb but I refuse to stop. Stopping means failure. And I wasn't a quitter. Hesh and Dad have always believed that the battle wasn't over until determination ran out.

Suddenly a voice I hadn't heard in.. ages echoed through the forest.

"Logan!"

It's a deep voice I'd recognize anywhere...

My heart races in anticipation. "Keegan!" I shout back, following the sound. I'm still running when we both collide. I don't pull myself away for a moment. Too scared to even look away from the warm body in front of me, in fear that it might vanish.

Eventually Keegan pulls away from me and runs a gloved thumb over my cheek. I must have looked horrible when he lets out a small gasp.

"Logan, Shit! are you injured?" Keegan worries.

I bite my lip and spare a glance behind me.

"We have to move now. Rorke and a team of federation soldiers are on my trail." I say ignoring his question.

Keegan nods and wraps an arm around me for support. I'm in pain, but I try to move as quickly as I can. We have 10 minutes max before more feds will be swarming the area. And getting caught again is not an option. We've been moving for a few minutes when Keegan eyes me with concern.

"You've been gone for.. 2 years." he says.

I sigh. It felt like decades since I'd last been with the Ghosts, with.. Hesh.

"I... Can we not talk about this now?"

I  restrain myself from flinching. Some memories were best left forgotten.

"You're right. Sorry."

I change the subject. "We gotta keep moving if we want to get back to the boat."

"Wait," He quickly frowns, realizing what I said. "How do you know that?"

Keegan's blue eyes narrow with suspicion and his hold becomes looser on me.

I curse myself mentally. Of course. How could I have forgotten Keegan's uncanny eye and observance?

I sigh, knowing my cover has been compromised. Well.. I wouldn't mind resorting to plan B.

I give him a grin and shrug my shoulders. "Don't take this personally." I lunge at his right knee. Keegan's quick reflexes gave him a second to back away, but it wasn't enough to avoid damage. My knife sinks into his flesh and I use the opportunity to kick him onto his back.

"Kid. Why are you doing this?" Keegan hisses.

I gasp in mock surprise and pout. "Why am I doing this? During my 2 years of solitary I learned a lot ya know? For example: the people you LOVE and TRUST will abandon you the moment you lose value to them."

"Logan.. that's not true. Merrick and Hesh spent countless of nights searching for you, capturing federation soldiers and interrogating them about where you were being held at. Hell, I went rogue! I'd left the Ghosts and went on my own hunt! Logan we never gave up on you. I'm sorry we were too late- "

I can't hold in my fury any longer. These lies being spit at me even after all I'd gone through?

"Yeah, you were too late. NO ONE came for me." I snarled. "Do you know what it's like being kept in a hole? Fed poison everyday with every meal so that you vomit every little thing you eat? Covered in your own piss and festering wounds as your body crumbles from sheer agony?"

"Rorke BRAINWASHED you, Logan! Why work for someone who abused you so horribly?"

I laughed humorlessly. "I had to go through hell in order to realise my true potential. Hesh and Dad used to tell me that determination was the biggest motivation. But I think I found a new one. Vengeance."

Silence overtakes us and I'm left straddling Keegan who looked dead. Maybe, just maybe I would have felt sympathy if this was someone who was a stranger to me. But Keegan wasn't a stranger. He left the deepest scar in my heart, so I was going to give him a fate much worse than death. I wanted to say, and possibly do, more, but quickly extinguished my white hot rage. We had a mission and I wasn't going to disappoint Rorke with my personal feelings.

Within seconds my squad has finally caught up to me and immediately runs over to restrain Keegan. I simply stand up and watch Keegan begin to struggle pathetically against a few of my men restraining him.  "WHAT DID YOU FUCKING DO TO HER? I'LL KILL YOU RORKE!"

His glare was angry and filled with anguish, but I just laughed and ignored him.

I look up to the private next to me, "Leave dear Merrick a note. Tell him he's about to lose another one." I smirk. The private nods and heads off.

"Logan, this isn't the girl I know, snap out of it!" Keegan is yelling to me now, still restrained.

But his plea falls deaf on my ears. I once was innocent and naïve, ready to fight for what was right. Now I was tainted, there was no going back. It's near impossible to separate oil from water after all.

"Oh...Keegan," I whisper with something close to endearment, before stalking over and removing his ghost mask. I toss it aside and soak in his features because it'll be the last time he'll look uncorrupted.

"I hate you." I whisper into his ear before giving his lips one last kiss.

"Take him to the pit." I say, quickly knocking him out with my pistol.

A//N The ending to Call of Duty Ghosts was -1000000/10. Like how on Earth did Rorke survive being SHOT, FALLING off a freaking TRAIN,  and almost DROWNING! And even if he did somehow manage to survive all that he would've been really weak and not able to sneak up on Hesh and Logan :/
